Financial Controller

We are looking for an experienced Controller to oversee financial reporting, analysis, accounting operations, and financial controls. The successful candidate will be a designated CPA professional with a strong background in financial analysis and reporting, excellent Excel skills, and the ability to provide meaningful financial information to support business decision-making.

This role will work closely with management and internal stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely financial information, maintain strong financial controls, and support ongoing business planning and performance analysis.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day accounting and financial reporting activities.
• Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and management reports.
• Perform detailed financial analyses, including variance analysis, budgeting, forecasting and financial performance evaluations.
• Provide financial information and recommendations to management to support business decisions.
• Develop and maintain financial models, reports, and analytical tools using Microsoft Excel.
• Prepare and present financial information and key performance indicators to management.
• Support annual budgeting and forecasting processes.
• Monitor financial controls, accounting policies, and reporting processes to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, reporting effectiveness, and internal controls.
• Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards and reporting tools to support financial and operational analysis.
• Collaborate with internal teams to collect, validate and analyze financial and operational information.
• Support audit activities and provide financial documentation and analysis as required.
• Complete other financial and accounting duties as required.

Requirements

• CPA designation is required.
• Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in accounting and financial management, including significant experience in financial analysis.
• Strong financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting skills.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including financial modeling and analysis.
• Experience developing or working with Power BI reports and dashboards.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting and internal controls.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Ability to clearly communicate financial information to financial and non-financial stakeholders.
• Fluency in French is required, and English is required for professional/professional communication.
• Ability and willingness to travel within Ontario approximately once a quarter.

Preferred/nice to have qualifications

• Experience with NAV / Microsoft Dynamics NAV is considered an asset.
• Experience with ERP systems and financial reporting integrations.
• Experience in a multi-site or multi-entity environment.

Work Environment

This is a hybrid position, combining telework and in-person collaboration as required. The position requires travel to Ontario approximately once a quarter.
