- Budget & Schedule Management: Drive tight cost control and schedule adherence, proactively identifying potential overruns and proposing optimized solutions to meet financial targets and deadlines.
- Engineering–Field Interface: Bridge the gap between engineering design teams and field crews to clarify specifications, resolve technical issues rapidly, and adapt plans to real-world site conditions.
- Supervision Support: Work hand-in-hand with the construction team and provide direct technical backing to site supervisors during daily planning and execution.
- Multi-Stakeholder Coordination: Liaise continuously between site operations and contractors to ensure smooth workflow handoffs while maintaining full compliance with administrative and project controls procedures.
- Quality & Safety Compliance: Enforce top-tier quality control, Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) requirements, and industry best practices on-site.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree (B.Sc. / B.Eng.) in Mining Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Language Requirements: Fluency in English (both written and spoken) is strictly required to interact effectively with site management, operations, and contractors in Northern Ontario.
- Cost & Schedule Control: Strong foundation in project controls, demonstrated budget tracking skills (cost control), and rigorous schedule management experience (project scheduling).
- Field Leadership & Technical Expertise: Proven track record acting as a technical reference, supporting site supervisors, and maintaining strong execution momentum.
- Industry Experience: Solid background in mining or heavy industrial sectors (construction capital projects, sustaining capital, or plant shutdowns/turnarounds).
- Contractor & Administrative Management: Ability to balance strict administrative/contractual compliance with field agility and contractor relations.
- Working Conditions & Engagement Status:
- Willingness and ability to work on a Fly-In, Fly-Out (FIFO) rotation in a remote Northern Ontario location.
- Flexible Hiring Options: Open to both direct employment (permanent role) and independent contractor / consultant arrangements.
