Position Summary

The Customer Service Supervisor is responsible for the overall efficient and effective customer service and recreation program delivery along with the day-to-day operations of the Community Service Department central booking desk. This role receives and processes facility bookings, rental payments, and program registrations, and manages a team of customer service employees and acts as Program Manager.

Responsibilities

Department Administration

Oversees the recreation programming division, including program development, registration, delivery and evaluation.
Oversees permitting of all municipal recreational facilities, including parks, soccer fields, baseball diamonds, arenas, community centres and sports fields, and ensures correct fees have been applied.
Manages the customer service desk and the concession booth at the Wellness & Recreation Complex in Komoka and the concession booth at the Ilderton Arena.
Provides administrative support for the Director of Community Services and the department and the Community Services Advisory Committee.
Implements systems at the customer service desks that ensure operational and service excellence and works to improve customer service activities.
Establishes and maintains effective relationships with members, Middlesex Centre staff, volunteers and community partners.
Oversees development of new programs, recruits and coordinates new program instructors, and identifies and secures resources for the programs.
Manages contracts and agreements with clients to ensure all requirements are fulfilled.

People Leadership

Provides leadership guidance while supervising all support staff and maintains a strong functional team building through effective recruiting, training, coaching, scheduling Establishes rapport and maintains effective relationships
Fosters a work environment that values and encourages teamwork and empowerment.

Other Responsibilities

Completes weekly and monthly invoicing, counting, balancing, depositing, and distributing of daily revenue, monitoring, and collecting overdue receivables.
Undertakes special projects and performs other duties as assigned in accordance with departmental or corporate objectives.

Qualifications & Experience

Education

College diploma in recreation studies or business administration or a related field of study.

Experience

3-4 years of progressive experience preferably in municipal recreation with knowledge of facility booking software.

Skills & Abilities

Computer literacy using the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Sound knowledge of facility booking and understanding of principles of accounting.
Excellent customer service, interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written).
Excellent organizational and administrative skills.
Knowledge of recreational programming and planning.
Ability to work with elected and non-elected officials and staff at all levels.
Great skills in complaint handling and conflict resolution techniques.

Other Requirements

Valid Ontario class G driver’s license in good standing.
Criminal Records Check.
Vulnerable Sector Check

Hours & Conditions of Work

Normal work hours are 37.5 per week, Monday to Friday. Occasional work outside of normal business hours will be required to attended evening or weekend meetings or events.

This position primarily works at the front desk of the Komoka Wellness and Recreation Complex.

Compensation

Middlesex Centre offers a competitive salary and a comprehensive employee benefit plan, including participation in the OMERS pension plan for this position. Compensation for this position is currently $71,019 to $84,552 per year.
