About Digital Learning At Humber

Digital Learning at Humber Polytechnic supports innovative, accessible, and engaging teaching and learning through the effective use of digital technologies. The department works collaboratively with faculty and academic partners to enhance learning experiences, strengthen digital teaching practices, and support the delivery of high-quality education across Humber.

About The Educational Technology Coordinator Role

The Educational Technology Coordinator (ETC) provides leadership, consultation, and support for the evaluation, implementation, and effective use of educational technologies across the institution. Reporting to the Associate Dean, Digital Learning, the Educational Technology Coordinator develops and delivers professional learning resources, workshops, and guidance that help faculty and staff adopt and apply educational technologies and best practices.

The Educational Technology Coordinator serves as a senior resource for complex educational technology inquiries, providing advanced support and advice on tools within the Learning Management System, virtual learning environments, interactive teaching technologies, artificial intelligence, immersive technologies, and other emerging solutions. The role collaborates closely with Innovative Learning, Information Technology Services, vendors, and academic teams to support technology-enabled teaching and learning initiatives.

The Educational Technology Coordinator monitors emerging trends, leads and supports educational technology pilots and implementations, and provides expert guidance on accessibility, inclusion, privacy, and ethical considerations. The incumbent also represents the institution within the broader educational technology community through committee work, presentations, and professional engagement.

Key Duties

Act as the lead facilitator for the delivery of training and resources related to the use of education technology to an audience of instructors, staff, and other departments across the institution.
Provide tier-three support to faculty and staff on educational technology use.
Support the delivery of Innovative Learning events through support for presentations and general operations at daily conferences, faculty orientation, and other professional development opportunities.
Research new and emerging educational technology and tools, collaborates with stakeholders to provide recommendations on the most appropriate solution for each need or requirement, and develop corresponding workflows and support resources.
Act as a primary guide for members of the College on ways to remain aligned with current legislative requirements and best practices in accessible practices in educational experiences.
Support the exploration of innovative approaches to the use of educational technology in teaching and learning in response to institutional priorities.

Education

Minimum 4-year degree (or equivalent) in Educational Technology, Instructional Technology, Education, or a related field.

Experience/Skills

Minimum five (5) years of related experience.
