We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Nurse Clinician to join our Vascular Access team

Job Status: Casual

Reporting Relationship: Manager of Fracture, Plastics & Surgical Clinics, Vascular Access Team

Location: Humber River Health – Wilson SiteHours of work: 12 hour shifts on days, evenings and/or weekends (07:30 - 19:30 and/or 11:30- 23:30) - subject to change as per Article B – Management Functions

Hiring Salary Range: $45.09 - $61.20

Union: ONA

Position Responsibilities:

Utilizes and demonstrates a comprehensive theoretical knowledge base and developed skill and competence in infusion care
Advances the practice of Infusion therapy and Vascular Access Device (VAD) management at HRH.
Provides leadership to the multi-disciplinary teams of all clinical areas of all programs by providing expert advice and resources.
Coaches and provides consultation and education for staff and patients in infusion therapy and VAD management.
Provides evidence-based practice to ensure quality patient outcomes.
Participates in quality improvement activities and monitoring of patient outcomes related to IV therapy in all clinical areas.
Assesses learning needs of staff and provides individual coaching and mentoring to ensure staff competence
Developing and providing educational in-services, as needed.
Adherence to CVAA standards of Infusion therapy and VAD management and related HRH policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

Registered Nurse in good standing with CNO
Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing required
CVAA(c), required or eligible to write
Current membership with CVAA, required
Two years current clinical experience with infusion therapy and VAD management
Current BCLS
Demonstrated knowledge of quality monitoring of patient outcomes related to infusion therapy
Demonstrated exceptional interpersonal communication skills with all members of the health team and patients/families
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with changing priorities, using excellent time management, and independent problem-solving skills.
Demonstrated knowledge of adult teaching and learning principles.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a highly diverse patient and staff population.
Demonstrated positive attendance record and commitment to ongoing professional development.
Ability to work independently or in a team environment is essential.
Demonstrated knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety standards.
Excellent attendance and discipline free record required
