Original job description

Job Title: Jr Python Developer -

Client: Tech firm

Experience Level: up to 4 Years experience -

Salary: Up to $150k CAD + Bonus + Package

Location: Montreal (Hybrid)

About the Client

My client is an exceptionally ambitious technology company building next-generation software platforms that solve complex problems at scale.

Engineering sits at the heart of the business, with a culture centred around technical excellence, continuous learning and giving talented developers the opportunity to work alongside some of the best software engineers in the industry.

The team includes experienced engineers from globally recognised technology companies, high-growth startups and world-class engineering organisations, bringing expertise across distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, data platforms and high-performance software.

For an early-career developer, this represents a rare opportunity: the chance to learn from exceptional mentors, work with modern technologies and accelerate your growth in an environment designed to develop outstanding engineers.

If you're curious, ambitious and excited by solving difficult technical problems, this could be the perfect place to build your career.

What You'll Be Working On

Build Real Software: Develop Python applications and services used in production by customers around the world.
Learn from Exceptional Engineers: Work closely with senior developers from top technology companies and high-growth engineering teams.
Explore Modern Technologies: Gain exposure to cloud platforms, distributed systems, APIs, databases and scalable backend architectures.
Solve Interesting Problems: Work on projects involving large datasets, automation, system design and platform optimisation.
Contribute from Day One: Share ideas, write production code and have a genuine impact on products and technology decisions.
Develop Engineering Excellence: Learn modern development practices including testing, CI/CD, code reviews and collaborative software design.
Grow Your Technical Breadth: Gain exposure across backend development, infrastructure, data engineering and platform technologies.

Required Skills & Experience

1–4 years of professional software engineering experience.
Strong Python development experience
Good understanding of Computer Science fundamentals, algorithms and data structures.
Experience working with APIs, databases and backend systems.
Familiarity with software engineering best practices including testing and version control.
A curious mindset and a passion for learning new technologies.
Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate within a team.

Nice to Have

Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure or GCP.
Exposure to Docker, Kubernetes or container technologies.
Knowledge of SQL and data processing tools.
Experience with web frameworks such as Flask, FastAPI or Django.
Interest in distributed systems, platform engineering or scalable software architecture.

The early years of your career can define the engineer you become.

The best developers don't grow by working on easy problems - they grow by being surrounded by exceptional people, tackling challenging technical work and learning in an environment that values engineering excellence.

This role gives you the opportunity to do exactly that.

You'll work alongside experienced engineers from some of the world's best technology companies, contribute to meaningful projects from day one and gain exposure to technologies that many developers don't encounter until much later in their careers.

If you're an ambitious Python developer looking for a place where you'll learn quickly, build impressive technology and accelerate your growth, this is an exceptional opportunity.
