Job Title: Platform Engineer
Client: Fintech trading
Salary: $180,000 + Bonuses & Benefits
Location: Montreal
We're partnering with a leading systematic trading and technology firm that builds cutting edge infrastructure powering high performance, data intensive research and trading platforms.
You will be responsible for designing, monitoring, and scaling platform infrastructure - including the Kubernetes-based orchestration layer underpinning compute-intensive research and trading workloads. You will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on the productivity and efficiency of teams by enhancing operational efficiency, developing CI/CD pipelines, creating self-service workflows, and directly improving the developer and researcher experience
What you'll be doing
- Architect and evolve scalable Linux compute platforms.
- Develop automation for provisioning, configuration management and infrastructure lifecycle.
- Build internal tooling and APIs to improve developer productivity.
- Drive observability across metrics, logs and tracing.
- Support large-scale server provisioning and platform operations.
- Collaborate closely with software engineering teams to deliver resilient, high-performance infrastructure.
- Participate in incident response, continuous improvement and mentoring within the team.
What they're looking for
- Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 4+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or platform engineering roles.
- Experience with Python.
- Experience with system administration and troubleshooting (Linux, Bash, Containerization - Docker/Kubernetes).
- Infrastructure automation and configuration management experience (e.g., Ansible, Terraform, Puppet)
