Original job description

Title: React Engineer

Client: Elite Buy-Side Fund

$$$: Up to $200,000 Starting Base + Bonuses + Full Benefits Package

Location: Montreal (Hybrid)

Why This Stands Out:

Highly respected, hands-on Tech Lead you can collaborate with as a peer
Engineers are led by engineers - minimal bureaucracy, high trust, and strong technical standards
Genuine ownership over critical, revenue-impacting systems, with greenfield work on a modern stack
Developer-first culture that values deep expertise and continuous improvement
Small, flat, high-calibre team where senior contributions have visible, lasting impact
Beautiful offices with excellent perks: food, gym, and more

What You'll Do:

Build and own high-performance React front-ends for real-time trading and market data
Create sophisticated dashboards and visualisations for massive, fast-moving datasets
Partner closely with quants to turn complex models and ML insights into intuitive UIs
Make mission critical architectural calls around performance, state, and real-time data

Who You Are:

Experienced front-end engineer (5+ years) with strong React and TypeScript experience
Comfortable working on complex, data-heavy, real-time systems
Confident owning problems end-to-end and influencing technical direction
Strong compsci and engineering fundamentals (degree ideally but not required); fintech or trading exposure is a plus!

More about this job

Responsibilities

Build and own high-performance React front ends for real-time trading and market data, including dashboards and visualizations for large, fast-moving datasets. Collaborate with quantitative researchers to present complex models and machine-learning insights in intuitive interfaces, and make key architectural decisions about performance, state, and real-time data.

Requirements

Candidates should have at least five years of front-end engineering experience and strong React and TypeScript skills, with comfort working on complex, data-heavy, real-time systems. They should be able to own problems end to end and influence technical direction; strong computer science and engineering fundamentals are expected, while a degree is preferred but not required and fintech or trading experience is a plus.
