Purpose of Job:
- Be an experienced and highly organized Engineering Project Coordinator to support the successful launch of new and revised products into manufacturing.
- In this role, you will act as the key link between Product Development and Manufacturing, coordinating projects from design release through production launch. You will help ensure technical information is transferred accurately, engineering changes are managed effectively, ERP data is maintained correctly, and projects are delivered on time.

Principal Accountabilities:
What You'll Do
Project Coordination & Launch Execution
- Coordinate engineering projects from concept release through production implementation.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, action plans, and milestone tracking.
- Monitor project risks, dependencies, and deliverables across Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Purchasing, and Production.
- Provide regular project status updates and escalate issues that may impact timing or launch readiness.
Design to Manufacturing Transition
- Serve as the primary liaison between Design Engineers and Manufacturing Engineers.
- Coordinate the transfer of manufacturing-critical information, including drawings, models, tolerances, materials, tooling, and assembly requirements.
- Participate in design and manufacturing reviews to support manufacturability and production readiness.
- Ensure all stakeholders receive the information required for successful product launches.
ERP & Product Data Management
- Create and maintain part masters, Bills of Material (BOMs), routings, and related engineering records.
- Ensure ERP/MRP data aligns with current engineering revisions.
- Support setup of manufacturing structures, purchased components, and routing sequences for new products.
- Maintain accurate and organized engineering documentation.
Engineering Change Management
- Coordinate Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) from initiation through implementation.
- Track actions, timelines, and approvals to ensure timely completion.
- Verify updates are reflected across drawings, BOMs, routings, inspection documentation, and manufacturing records.
Prototype Validation & Production Readiness
- Support prototype builds and product validation activities.
- Coordinate production readiness reviews, including documentation, tooling, quality requirements, and routing completion.
- Capture lessons learned and ensure final documentation is complete before release to production.
Continuous Improvement
- Maintain project records, meeting minutes, and engineering documentation.
- Support the development and improvement of standards, procedures, and work instructions.
- Collaborate with internal teams, suppliers, and customers to drive successful project outcomes.
Health and Safety Responsibilities:
- Wear all required PPE while in plant.
- Work safe & ergonomically by following H&S policies.
- Report any unsafe acts, conditions or accidents across the plant.
- Report accidents, near misses, injuries, or illnesses immediately to your supervisor.
- Inspect equipment and the workplace regularly.
- Be alert for hazards.
- Cooperate with others on matters relating to occupational safety and health.
Knowledge, Skills and Education:
What We’re Looking For
Education & Experience
- Degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in engineering, manufacturing, new product introduction, project coordination, or a related role.
- Experience in a machining or manufacturing environment is strongly preferred.
- Experience supporting prototype-to-production launches and engineering change implementation is an asset
Skills & Qualifications
- Strong project coordination and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
- Understanding of machining and manufacturing processes, including tolerances and production methods.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and 3D models.
- Working knowledge of SolidWorks.
- Experience maintaining BOMs and routings within an ERP/MRP system (SAP experience is an asset).
- Familiarity with ECN processes, document control, and production release procedures.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 and controlled documentation practices is an asset.
