Location: North Vancouver, BC (On-site)

We are searching for talented employees to help us build the clean fuel technologies of tomorrow. Every team member brings relentless passion and quick learning to our culture of innovation. Hydron is the clean fuel company unlocking “net-zero” energy in the Renewable Natural Gas and Blue Hydrogen markets.
We are looking for a Senior Plant Engineer to carry out the design and engineering of Hydron’s gas upgrading and separation plants. This role takes projects from process concept through detailed plant design, developing simulations, P&IDs, BOMs, and 3D layouts, and supports fabrication, installation, and commissioning while working closely with internal teams and external project stakeholders.

Responsibilities include:
  • Carrying out plant process design for Hydron’s gas upgrading and separation systems, from conceptual design through detailed engineering
  • Developing process simulations, mass and energy balances, and equipment sizing calculations
  • Preparing and maintaining P&IDs, PFDs, and equipment and instrument lists
  • Preparing BOMs and supporting procurement with technical specifications and vendor bid evaluations
  • Developing 3D plant and skid layouts, including equipment arrangement, piping routing, accessibility, and maintainability
  • Reviewing vendor, fabricator, and contractor drawings and deliverables for technical compliance
  • Participating in HAZOPs and design reviews, and ensuring designs meet applicable codes and standards
  • Supporting fabrication, installation, commissioning, and startup of plants
  • Coordinating technical and on-site activities with multidisciplinary teams, contractors, suppliers, and project partners
Skills & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field
  • 5+ years of experience in plant engineering or process design, preferably in gas processing systems
  • P.Eng designation (or eligibility for registration with Engineers and Geoscientists BC) preferred
  • Hands-on experience with gas processing systems such as gas upgrading, separation, compression, or treatment
  • Strong experience in plant process design and process simulation (e.g., Aspen HYSYS)
  • Proven experience preparing P&IDs and BOMs
  • Proficiency with 3D layout design software (e.g., AutoCAD Plant 3D, SolidWorks, or similar)
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work across multidisciplinary teams
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, project-driven environment
Annual Salary:
  • CAD $90,000 - $105,000 commensurate with experience
Benefits:
  • Competitive salary in the growing cleantech sector
  • Comprehensive benefits (health, dental & vision)
  • Opportunities for professional development and career growth in renewable energy
  • Collaborative, innovative work environment with impact on global decarbonization
