Who We Are
Hyphen Studio is an OAA-registered architectural practice based in Toronto. We are a design-focused studio with a passion for creative problem-solving and thoughtful, distinctive architecture.
Our work is primarily focused on residential design, including custom single-family homes, additions and renovations, multi-family residential developments, and low- to mid-rise residential projects. We approach each project with an emphasis on strong design, careful detailing, and practical solutions that respond to the unique opportunities and constraints of each site.

The Role
Hyphen Studio is seeking a talented and motivated Intern Architect to join our Toronto team.
This is a full-time position for an individual with 3–5 years of relevant professional experience who combines strong design sensibility with solid technical knowledge and attention to detail.
The successful candidate will contribute to projects through multiple phases of design and documentation and will work closely with our team, clients, consultants, and other project stakeholders.
Proficiency in Revit, familiarity with the Ontario Building Code, and working knowledge of zoning bylaws and approval processes are essential requirements for this position.
What You’ll Do
- Contribute to projects from schematic design and design development through construction documentation and approvals
- Develop architectural designs, drawings, details, and 3D models using Revit
- Produce and coordinate high-quality construction drawing packages
- Review designs and documentation for compliance with the Ontario Building Code and applicable zoning bylaws
- Assist with zoning reviews, building permit applications, and municipal approval processes
- Coordinate architectural drawings with structural, mechanical, electrical, and other consultants
- Develop architectural details with consideration for constructability, building systems, materials, and design intent
- Communicate and coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, and other project stakeholders
- Contribute to multiple projects at different stages while maintaining a high level of accuracy and organization
- Participate in project coordination and construction-related activities as required
What You’ll Bring
- 3–5 years of relevant professional architectural experience
- Proficiency in Revit – required
- Strong working knowledge of the Ontario Building Code – required
- Familiarity with zoning bylaws and municipal approval processes – required
- Strong architectural design skills and a high level of attention to detail
- Experience producing and coordinating construction drawings and architectural details
- Thorough understanding of building systems, construction methods, materials, and architectural technology
- Ability to translate design concepts into well-resolved and technically sound documentation
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational, coordination, and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while also taking ownership of assigned work
- Experience managing projects and coordinating project teams is considered an asset
- Self-motivated, responsible, organized, and passionate about architecture and design
