Job Overview

The Montreal Clinical Research Institute (IRCM) is an internationally recognized biomedical research centre. This position reports to Dr. Emilia Liana Falcone and supports her clinical and research program, including the Microbiome and Mucosal Defence Research Unit and the IRCM Post-COVID-19 Research Clinic (IPCO).

The program studies post-infectious conditions, including long COVID, inborn errors of immunity and inflammatory diseases through multicentre clinical and translational research.

We are seeking an organized, proactive individual to recruit participants and support clinical study coordination, from initial inquiry to visit scheduling.

The successful candidate will work with the research coordinator, research nurses and Dr. Falcone, with opportunities to expand responsibilities over time.

Responsibilities

Manage the waiting list and inquiries: respond promptly, document communications, conduct follow-ups and track each person through to the next step.
Communicate with potential participants, present studies using approved materials and answer non-medical questions.
Prescreen participants using protocol criteria and refer items requiring clinical review.
Explain participant information and consent documents and, when permitted, help obtain informed consent.
Schedule visits, coordinate availability and provide required instructions.
Maintain recruitment lists and logs, calendars and dashboards, and enter or verify data in REDCap and other research tools.
Alert the team to barriers, pending files and situations requiring a decision.
Comply with protocols, ethics approvals, Good Clinical Practice and confidentiality requirements.

Coordination and development responsibilities

Become familiar with active protocols and support the start-up of new studies.
Prepare recruitment and tracking tools and operational documents.
Contribute to process improvement and, as experience is gained, support document management, data follow-up and other coordination activities.

What You Bring to the Table

Essential Requirements

Relevant college or university education, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Excellent French and English communication skills, spoken and written, with strong comfort communicating by telephone and email.
Excellent organizational skills and rigorous follow-up in a high-volume environment.
Autonomy, initiative, reliability, diplomacy and a solution-oriented approach.
Comfort with computer applications, tracking tools and learning new platforms.

Desired Skills

Experience in clinical research, healthcare, patient services or recruitment.
Familiarity with REDCap, GCP or research consent.
Experience with chronic-disease populations or longitudinal or interventional studies.
Strong interest in clinical research and study coordination.

Key Information

Schedule: Full-time, primarily daytime schedule, with occasional flexibility depending on activities.
Position type: Temporary, 12-month fixed-term contract.
Primarily on-site; occasional remote work may be possible after onboarding.
Start date: as soon as possible.
