Summary: Working closely with the Engineering Director, you will provide technical support to the mechanical design team for projects in the institutional, commercial, and industrial sectors. The design team (designers, drafters, etc.) will turn to you for guidance during project development and plan preparation. You will contribute to the smooth operation and continuous improvement of the mechanical department by implementing effective working methods.
Responsibilities:

Provide support to the design team regarding compliance with applicable codes, best practices, standards, state-of-the-art rules, tools, and work methods.

Advise the design team during project development and the preparation of plans and specifications.

Participate in the design and problem-solving process for various projects.

Provide technical support to the construction and post-implementation follow-up departments.

Participate in improving work methods and tools.

Collaborate with project directors and the automation and electrical teams.

Plan and monitor the schedule of mechanical deliverables, in collaboration with the Engineering Director.

Participate in the mentoring and professional development of employees.
Qualifications:

Fluency in French (oral and written) required.

University degree in mechanical engineering or a technical diploma (DEC) in building mechanical systems.

Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in building mechanical systems (HVAC / plumbing / building services).

Strong knowledge of applicable building codes and standards (Quebec/Canada Construction Code, CSA standards, NFPA standards, ASHRAE, etc.).

Great rigor and demonstrated organizational skills in priority management.

Excellent ability to maintain effective and harmonious interpersonal relationships.

English proficiency is required for participating in projects with clients or collaborators outside Quebec.

Available for professional travel within Canada.

Knowledge of energy efficiency (an asset).

Knowledge of AutoCAD and REVIT drawings (an asset).
