About the Role

WEALTH MANAGEMENT ASSOCIATE

IA Private Wealth

Laval, Quebec | Full-Time

Are you a banker or mutual fund advisor who has built strong client relationships but feels limited by the traditional bank environment? We are looking for an ambitious Wealth Management Associate to join a growing private wealth-management practice and work directly alongside an experienced advisor. This is an opportunity for someone who wants to take the next step in their career - gaining exposure to investment management, financial planning, insurance, estate planning and business development, while being supported by an established team and infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • Work alongside senior advisors in managing and developing client relationships
  • Participate in client meetings, portfolio reviews and financial planning discussions
  • Identify opportunities to deepen existing client relationships
  • Assist with the transition of client assets from traditional banking platforms
  • Develop relationships with prospective clients and referral sources
  • Support investment and financial planning recommendations
  • Collaborate with specialists in insurance, estate and tax planning
  • Gradually take on greater responsibility for a book of clients as your experience develops
  • Participate in business-development initiatives and networking
  • Maintain a high standard of professionalism, organization and client service

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 Years work experience at Advisory Banking level

Required Skills

  • We are particularly interested in individuals currently working in:
  • Retail or commercial banking
  • Personal banking / financial services
  • Mutual fund advisory
  • Wealth management
  • Investment or financial services
  • Entrepreneurial and ambitious
  • Comfortable speaking with clients and building relationships
  • Motivated by long-term career growth
  • Competitive and results-oriented
  • Curious about investments and financial planning
  • Professional and highly personable
  • Willing to learn and take initiative
  • Interested in building a career in wealth management rather than simply holding a position

Compensation and Benefits Package

  • Starting Range: 50,000$ - 60,000$ + % Bonus
  • Performance-based growth opportunities
  • Training and mentorship from an experienced wealth-management advisor
  • Exposure to high-net-worth wealth management
  • A structured path toward greater responsibility and earning potential
  • Access to established technology, systems and administrative support
  • The opportunity to participate directly in business development and asset growth
  • A team environment designed to help you develop into a future advisor

Why Make the Move?

Traditional banking can provide excellent training - but it can also place significant limitations on how you serve clients, build relationships and grow your career. Our goal is to provide the best of both worlds: The structure, mentorship and resources of an established practice, combined with the entrepreneurial opportunity to build something significantly larger. You will not be expected to walk in with a massive book of business or immediately operate independently. Instead, you'll have the opportunity to learn the business from the inside, develop your skills, build relationships and progressively take on more responsibility. For the right person, this can become a long-term career path toward becoming a key member of a growing wealth-management practice.

About the Opportunity

We are building a scalable wealth-management team with a long-term vision of serving a growing base of families, professionals and business owners. The ideal candidate is someone who looks at their current role and thinks: "There has to be more opportunity than this." If you're ambitious, relationship-driven and interested in building a career beyond the traditional bank model, we'd like to meet you.
