About the team you are joining

IATA’s Business Intelligence Services are the focal point and driving force for data management and global BI services for the aviation industry. The team is comprised of aviation industry experts, data management and analytic professionals. One of the four verticals within the IATA BIS department focused on Passenger Traffic & Sales. This unit places a strong emphasis on managing end-to-end delivery of products, Vendor managements and acting as IATA in-house business expert in direct liaison with external providers and partners. The Senior Manager, Operations reports to Head, Pax Traffic & Sales BI.

Responsibilities

Take Charge of the technical and operations aspects of DDS cloud-based industry data solution. Serve as the in-house business specialist and lead in direct liaison with external providers, partners, and internal IT stakeholders. Guiding end-to-end ETL processes in collaboration with the Ingestion team, in coordination with ARC and external vendors. Oversee the client end to end delivery processes, this includes both Flat file and webtool deliveries and in coordination with ARC. Identify opportunities to improve and optimize operational processes and performance through data-driven insights. Monitor, measure, and report SLAs for different vendors in coordination with IT and create an early warning mechanism related to Vendors quality, through creation and distribution of regular reports and dashboards to support decision making and early warnings. Oversees the processes of – but not limited to - developing Statement of Work on change requests and sign-off on the deliverables and aid in grooming stories and making sure it’s a reflection of the business needs. Budget management: Monitor, manage and optimize the bank of days and costing related with enhancement and other out-of-pocket expenses. Managing in coordination with IT all maintenance and development processes and ensuring compliance with ISO27001 / ISO 9001 standards. Manage a team responsible for both product delivery and solution technology by mentoring and developing a team of BI experts. Training other colleagues on data management framework, processes, tools and functions, which promote database standards and best practices.

M.Sc. or B.Sc. in Computer Science or Aviation Information Systems, or equivalent experience. Must have solid aviation business expertise with 10+ years working experience managing global scale operations job. preferably in aviation commercial data 7+ years’ experience in data management lead role. Must have broad and sufficient knowledge of various aspects of data Management including data governance, data quality, master data management, data integration, information life cycle. Also is familiar with AWS & Snowflake solutions for data management, metadata management, business intelligence and reporting (MS Power BI), integration and systems architecture. Familiarity with Ticket management System, particularly JIRA / JSM. Proven experience working closely with business owners and subject matter experts to document, design, develop, and deliver high-quality data and analytics solutions is required. Requires solid knowledge of business planning, resource/financial planning and reporting, proven project management skills. Good interpersonal communication: the ability to communicate complex issues in a simple manner. Fluent reading, writing, and speaking abilities in English. Team player and strong sense of ownership. Familiar with complex matrix structure Ability to work under pressure with strict deadlines.
