Original job description

At Ice River Sustainable Solutions, we are building more than products. We are building careers with purpose. As a proudly Canadian, family-owned leader in sustainable manufacturing, we transform 100% recycled plastic into innovative solutions used across North America. Sustainability is not just something we talk about; it is built into everything we do.

We move fast. We solve problems. We take pride in doing meaningful work that makes a real impact. We invest in our people, promote from within, and create real opportunities for growth across our organization.

If you are someone who rolls up your sleeves, thinks creatively, and is ready to grow with a company that is redefining sustainable manufacturing, this could be your next move.

Senior Manager, FP&A & Operational Finance

Shelburne, ON (Hybrid)

Salary: $120,000 to $135,000 per year plus bonus

At Ice River Sustainable Solutions, we are building more than a finance team. We are building a strategic business partnership that helps shape the future of our organization.

We are looking for an experienced finance leader to become the primary strategic finance partner to our Vice President, Finance, helping drive business performance across a growing, multi-site manufacturing organization.

This is not a traditional FP&A role. It is an opportunity to influence executive decision-making, partner closely with Operations and Commercial teams, and lead initiatives that improve profitability, operational performance, and long-term business growth.

If you are someone who enjoys turning complex business challenges into practical financial solutions and you thrive in an environment where your ideas lead to action, we would love to hear from you.

What You Will Do

As our Senior Manager, FP&A & Operational Finance, you will provide strategic financial leadership while leading our Financial Planning & Analysis and Operational Finance functions.

In this role, you will:

Own the corporate budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning processes across our manufacturing operations.
Lead the monthly management reporting cycle, delivering meaningful insights and executive reporting that support strategic decision-making.
Partner with Operations and Sales to improve profitability through pricing strategy, customer profitability analysis, and margin improvement initiatives.
Lead product, plant, customer, and SKU profitability analysis while identifying opportunities to improve gross margin and EBITDA.
Oversee operational finance activities, including standard costing, manufacturing variance analysis, inventory valuation, and costing accuracy.
Drive capital planning by developing business cases, ROI analyses, and investment recommendations.
Lead working capital and cash flow forecasting initiatives while identifying opportunities to improve inventory performance and cash conversion.
Build executive dashboards and operational KPIs that provide visibility into business performance.
Champion finance process improvements, reporting automation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Prepare and deliver executive and Board-level financial presentations and strategic recommendations.
Coach and develop our Financial Analyst and Cost Accountant while fostering a collaborative, high-performing finance team.

What We Are Looking For

We are seeking an experienced finance leader who combines strategic thinking with strong business partnership skills and a passion for operational excellence.

The ideal candidate will bring:

CPA designation.
A degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Economics, or a related discipline.
10 or more years of progressive experience in FP&A, Operational Finance, Corporate Finance, or Financial Leadership.
Demonstrated success supporting multi-site manufacturing operations.
Strong experience leading budgeting, forecasting, executive reporting, profitability analysis, and operational finance.
Advanced financial modelling and business case development expertise.
Experience preparing and delivering executive and Board-level financial presentations.
Advanced Excel skills and strong experience with ERP systems.
Power BI and business intelligence experience.
A collaborative leadership style with the ability to influence across all levels of the organization.

Why Join Ice River?

At Ice River Sustainable Solutions, you will join an organization that continues to invest in growth, innovation, and sustainability. You will work alongside an experienced executive team where Finance is viewed as a true business partner, and your ideas will directly influence strategic decisions across the organization.

We offer:

Competitive salary of $120,000 to $135,000, based on experience
Performance bonus
Hybrid work environment
Comprehensive health and dental benefits
Group RRSP program
Professional development opportunities
A collaborative, values-driven culture where your contributions make a measurable impact

If you are ready to take the next step in your finance leadership career and help shape the future of a growing Canadian manufacturer, we would love to hear from you.

Please let Ice River Sustainable Solutions know if you require accommodation during the hiring and selection process and we will work with you to make appropriate arrangements. Ice River Sustainable Solutions is an Equal Opportunity Employer.

We are committed to equity, diversity and inclusivity in the workplace, we welcome applications from women, racially visible individuals, people with disabilities, indigenous peoples, and LGBTQ2S+ persons.
