Our client, a leading Canadian organization, is looking for an experienced Controller to join their finance team.
📍 Mississauga, ON | Hybrid: 3 Days In Office / 2 Days Remote
📅 6-Month Contract | Strong Potential for Extension
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including GL, AP, AR, reconciliations, accruals and journal entries.
- Lead the month-end and year-end close and ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Review financial statements, account reconciliations, journal entries and supporting schedules.
- Prepare and review monthly financial reporting and variance analysis.
- Manage and provide leadership to the accounting team, including AP/AR staff.
- Oversee inventory, cost accounting, cash flow and working capital activities.
- Maintain strong internal controls and support process improvements.
- Coordinate with internal and external auditors and provide required financial information.
- Support budgeting, forecasting and financial planning activities.
- Partner with operations and senior management on accounting and financial matters.
Qualifications
- CPA designation required.
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including Controller or senior accounting leadership experience.
- Previous experience managing an accounting team, including AP/AR.
- Strong experience with month-end close, financial reporting, reconciliations and General Ledger accounting.
- Strong Excel and ERP/accounting systems experience.
- Excellent analytical, communication and leadership skills.
