Original job description
Our client is looking for an experienced Financial Analyst to support financial modelling, month-end reporting, P&L analysis, management reporting, and executive-level insights. The ideal candidate has strong financial analysis skills, advanced Excel knowledge, and experience improving reporting processes through automation.
Contract: 12 months, with potential for extension or FTE conversion
Location: Toronto – Hybrid (Wednesdays, Thursdays, and every 4th Friday onsite)
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain financial models and reporting packages.
- Perform P&L analysis, financial reporting, and business performance analysis.
- Support month-end and quarter-end reporting activities.
- Prepare executive-level reports and insights for senior management.
- Identify opportunities to improve and automate reporting processes.
- Use Excel and reporting tools to improve data quality and efficiency.
- Collaborate with finance teams and business stakeholders across multiple business units.
Must-Have Skills
- 3–5+ years of experience in Financial Analysis and Reporting.
- Strong financial modelling and advanced Excel skills.
- Experience with P&L statements, financial metrics, and management reporting.
- Experience developing and maintaining financial reporting models.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Nice to Have
- Banking or financial services experience.
- Experience with Power Query, Power BI, Power Automate, or Power Apps.
- Exposure to SAP, Alteryx, or AI-enabled reporting tools.
- Experience with reporting automation and process improvements
