As a member of IGM’s Total Rewards team, you will lead the end-to-end delivery and continuous improvement of the administration of benefits, retirement and wellness programs for IGM’s employees, retirees, and the IG field network. You will join a collaborative team focused on providing a consistent, high-quality employee experience while maintaining effective governance, compliance and operational controls.

This is an opportunity to help redefine how benefits, retirement and wellness programs are delivered at IGM. Working at the intersection of people, technology and service delivery, you will identify opportunities to leverage automation, AI and digital solutions to improve employee experiences, streamline operations and support the evolution of Total Rewards programs.

This role provides day-to-day leadership for benefit program service delivery and is a key resource for strategic initiatives. You will oversee issue resolution, program changes, vendor relationships and operational improvements across a broad portfolio that includes group benefits, disability and return-to-work programs, pension and retirement arrangements, the employee share purchase plan, executive programs and wellness initiatives.

Lead the transformation, administration and ongoing delivery of benefit, retirement and wellness programs with a future-focused mindset, including issue resolution, change management, program enhancements, and opportunities to leverage automation, digital tools and AI to improve efficiency and employee experience.
Provide leadership and guidance to the team, including establishing performance objectives, supporting the development of direct reports, and fostering a high-performing team environment.
Manage relationships with benefit providers, consultants, insurers and other external partners, including service delivery, issue escalation and performance discussions.
Build strong relationships with internal partners and provide clear, practical guidance on complex benefit and retirement matters.
Identify and implement process improvements that strengthen operational effectiveness, controls and the overall employee experience.
Serve as a key resource for total rewards projects and participate in project planning and delivery across Human Resources, payroll, technology and other business areas.
Contribute to annual budgeting, insurance pricing, business planning and year-end accounting activities for benefit and retirement programs.

Required Qualifications

University degree in business, human resources or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
More than seven years of progressive experience in benefits, pension, disability management or a related field.
Strong knowledge of the Canadian market for group benefits and retirement programs, including pension plans, disability programs, insurance arrangements, governance and relevant employment, pension and tax requirements.
Demonstrated people management experience, including coaching and developing employees, managing performance and building high-performing teams.
Demonstrated experience leading teams and providing direction on complex operational and employee matters.
Experience managing external vendors, consultants and service providers.
Strong project management, organizational and prioritization skills, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives and deadlines.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex matters clearly to different audiences.
Strong judgment, attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Professional designation or specialized education in benefits, pensions, human resources or a related discipline.
Experience in overseeing the administration of programs for both active employees and retirees.
Experience supporting benefit program budgeting, financial reporting and year-end accounting processes.
Experience with program governance, compliance reviews and operational controls.
Bilingualism in French and English is considered an asset.

The expected annual base salary range for this role is $92,000 - $120,000 which is determined based on skills, knowledge and experience and geographic location. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for annual short-term incentive, health and well-being benefits, retirement and savings plan, paid time off and career development.
