Build a Career, Not Just a Job

At ServiceMaster Restore of North Vancouver Island, we believe restoration can be more than just a job. It can be a career with opportunities to learn, develop new skills, and advance.

We provide training, mentorship, and support to help our team members grow into specialized and leadership roles within the restoration industry.

We are currently looking for an experienced Carpenter to join our team. The ideal candidate takes pride in producing high-quality work, has strong attention to detail, and enjoys working in a varied environment where no two projects are exactly the same.

If you're dependable, motivated, and enjoy hands-on work, we'd like to meet you.

About Us

ServiceMaster Restore has proudly served Canadians for more than 65 years and is one of the country's leading restoration companies. Every day, we help homeowners and businesses recover after water, fire, storm, and mould damage by restoring both properties and peace of mind.

ServiceMaster North Vancouver Island is committed to maintaining a workplace that is safe, respectful, inclusive, and compliant with all applicable British Columbia employment legislation and WorkSafeBC requirements.

What You'll Do

Perform framing, finishing carpentry, drywall installation and repairs.
Complete painting, trim work, cabinet repairs, and interior finishing.
Install doors, windows, flooring, baseboards, casing, and hardware.
Complete exterior repairs including siding, soffits, fascia, decks, fences, and roofing repairs as required.
Repair or replace structural components damaged by fire, water, wind, or other insured losses.
Read scopes of work and complete projects according to plans and industry standards.
Ensure all work meets building code requirements and ServiceMaster quality standards.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized job site.
Communicate professionally with clients, subcontractors, and team members.
Assist with emergency mitigation work when required.
Participate in the firm's on-call rotation, responding to emergency restoration projects outside regular business hours when scheduled.
Accurately document work completed and report progress to the Project Manager.
Assist with other restoration and reconstruction tasks as required

What We're Looking For

Journeyperson Carpenter certification is preferred; experienced carpenters with equivalent skills are encouraged to apply.
Strong knowledge of residential and commercial construction practices.
Experience with drywall, finishing carpentry, painting, flooring, and general reconstruction.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
Excellent problem-solving and attention to detail.
Strong customer service and communication skills.
Valid Class 5 driver's licence with a clean driving record.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding work.
Comfortable working in occupied homes, commercial buildings, and active construction sites.
Successful completion of a Criminal Record Check as a condition of employment.
Ownership of a basic set of hand tools.

Benefits

Extended health care
Dental insurance
Vision care
Life insurance
Paid time off
Bonus based on performance
Opportunities for advancement
Company-paid training and certifications

Why Join Our Team?

We invest in our people. If you're looking for long-term career growth rather than just another job, you'll find opportunities to learn, advance, and take on increasing responsibility as your skills develop.

Our goal is to promote from within whenever possible, giving motivated team members the chance to build lasting careers in the restoration industry.

Compensation: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour

By joining ServiceMaster Restore, you'll be part of an industry leading company that has been in Canada for more than 65 years with locations from coast to coast. Our talented network of employees share in a vision of restoring peace of mind and our culture is one of diversity, where successful people work together to achieve common goals.

This franchise is independently owned and operated by a franchisee. Your application will go directly to the franchisee, and all hiring decisions will be made by the management of this franchisee. All inquiries about employment at this franchisee should be made directly to the franchise location, and not to The ServiceMaster Company, LLC.
