Ikon Engineers Canada Ltd. has an immediate, exciting opportunity for a mid-level Project Engineer to join our quickly growing team. This is a full-time position in our Structural department that will report to the department Associate (P.Eng.).

We are looking for an experienced and diligent Project Engineer that wants to make a difference in a small team. This individual will be personable in their interactions with both clients and their peers, providing patient and detailed mentorship when needed. They will have strong ethics in prioritizing quality in all aspects of their job duties and are willing to learn and grow as an engineering professional. Ikon requires someone with a minimum of 4 years of experience as a junior or intermediate EIT with a background in residential and commercial structural engineering. They will have or will be actively working towards their P.Eng. designation.
DETAILS:
Compensation: $85,280 - $124,800 salary range.
Your compensation will be determined by your background and level of experience and will be aligned with our internal pay structure in our commitment to equitable compensation.
Location: Whistler Office with Sea to Sky or Vancouver Hybrid options available
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Independent management of projects including client/contractor liaison, management of design process, inspection of works onsite and completion of projects
- Report to Associate & Principal Structural Engineers for delivery of projects
- Assist in leading, mentoring and development of Junior/Intermediate EIT staff
- Liaison with architects, designers, contractors etc.
- Perform detailed design calculations and analysis independently and under the guidance and supervision of the Associate & Principal Structural Engineers
- Work with the drafting team for preparation of design drawings. Review drawings to ensure compliance with design intent. Preparation of details and drawing using REVIT
- Assist in the development of the structural analysis systems and software to develop the technical data based within the firm
- Assist in the development and implementation of the Professional Practice Management Plan (PPMP) under the EGBC Professional Guidance Act
- Assist in preparation of monthly invoicing
- Assistance in business development and securing new projects
- Preparation and delivery of technical presentations for internal “lunch & learn” topics
- Other duties as assigned.
ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE:
- At the minimum, a bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited post-secondary institution.
- 4+ years of direct experience as an EIT or Project Engineer with a focus in residential and commercial structural engineering.
- Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, SkyCiv and Bluebeam.
- Working knowledge of on-site construction and construction methodology.
- Knowledge of BC Building Codes and applicable material design standards.
- Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with timber, structural steel and concrete detailing.
- The ability to manage time effectively and work both autonomously and part of a team.
- Experience in mentoring junior members of past teams
- Registered with EGBC as an Engineer-In-Training (EIT) or have achieved the designation of Professional Engineer (P.Eng.).
