Software Engineer

Java Full Stack Developer

Location: Montreal, QC (Onsite)

Duration: 6-12 Months contract with possible extension

Key Responsibilities and Competencies

• 2+ years of relevant experience
• Develop full-stack applications using Java on the backend and JavaScript or TypeScript, HTML5, CSS, and Angular on the frontend.
• Work with Java 17 and/or Java 21, Maven/Gradle, and Spring Boot.
• Develop and maintain frontend applications using Angular 8, Angular 10, or later versions, preferably Angular 17.
• Design, develop, and integrate RESTful APIs.
• Implement application security using Spring Security and JWT or OAuth2.
• Work with cloud-based databases, including Neo4j graph database and PostgreSQL.
• Implement microservices and debug distributed applications in a Linux environment.
• Apply data structures, algorithms, software design principles, design patterns, and architecture concepts.
• Perform troubleshooting and provide application development support.
• Work with CI/CD tools such as GitLab and Jenkins.
• Use Git/Gerrit for version control.
• Monitor application metrics using Prometheus and Grafana, and manage logs using ELK/EFK Stack.
• Work with Docker, Helm, Kubernetes, and Spinnaker.

Good to Have

• Experience with Linux and Unix systems.
• Knowledge of unit testing frameworks such as JUnit and Mockito.
• Experience with test automation frameworks such as Selenium, Cucumber, and Cypress.
• Familiarity with IntelliJ IDEA for backend development and Visual Studio Code for frontend development.
• Experience with Free and Open-Source Software (FOSS) and license handling.
• Experience working with cross-functional teams in an Agile software development environment.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
