Manger of Strategic Projects

The Manager, Strategic Projects is responsible for leading high-impact business initiatives that drive operational excellence, organizational growth, and process improvement across the organization. Working closely with Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, Sales, Finance, and Executive Leadership, this role serves as a catalyst for change by managing key strategic projects from concept through implementation.

This position is designed for a hands-on leader with strong business acumen and project management capability who can translate strategic objectives into measurable operational results.

What You'll Need

• 7+ years of progressive experience in project management, operations, engineering, manufacturing, or business improvement roles.
• Proven success leading cross-functional strategic initiatives.
• Experience in manufacturing, industrial services, or related industries preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to drive change and influence stakeholders at multiple organizational levels.
• Experience managing budgets, schedules, and project resources.

What You'll Do

Strategic Project Leadership

• Lead enterprise-wide strategic initiatives aligned with the company's growth objectives.
• Develop project charters, business cases, budgets, timelines, and success metrics.
• Manage multiple concurrent projects while balancing competing priorities.
• Identify risks, dependencies, and resource requirements and develop mitigation strategies.
• Provide regular updates to executive leadership regarding project status, outcomes, and recommendations.

Operational Excellence & Continuous Improvement

• Partner with Operations leaders to identify opportunities to improve productivity, efficiency, quality, and customer experience.
• Lead Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, or other continuous improvement initiatives.
• Analyze operational workflows and implement process improvements that reduce waste and increase performance.
• Support standardization of procedures, systems, and best practices across business units.
• Develop KPI dashboards and reporting frameworks to monitor progress and drive accountability.

Business Integration & Growth Initiatives

• Lead integration activities related to acquisitions, new locations, or business expansion projects.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams during organizational transformations.
• Identify opportunities for operational synergies and cost optimization.
• Support capital expenditure planning and implementation of new technologies, equipment, and systems.

Cross-Functional Leadership

• Collaborate closely with Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, Finance, HR, Quality, and Sales teams.
• Facilitate problem-solving sessions and drive consensus among multiple stakeholders.
• Influence without direct authority while maintaining accountability for project outcomes.
• Support leadership teams in identifying and executing strategic priorities.

Data Analysis & Decision Support

• Conduct operational and financial analysis to support strategic decision-making.
• Develop recommendations based on business data, trends, risks, and opportunities.
• Monitor project performance against objectives and implement corrective actions where necessary.
• Present findings and recommendations to the executive leadership team.

Leadership Development

• Demonstrate leadership capabilities aligned with future operational leadership responsibilities.
• Develop a deep understanding of business operations, customer requirements, and market dynamics.
• Mentor project team members and foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
• Participate in succession planning and leadership development initiatives.
