Why join us?

The IESO is committed to ensuring Ontario’s electricity system meets the province’s needs today and into the future. We are charged with purpose, delivering reliable, affordable, and sustainable electricity for homes, businesses, and communities across the province. We are energized to grow, embracing opportunities to shape the future of a dynamic and evolving energy sector while advancing our careers. We are powered by teamwork, supported by diverse and passionate colleagues who foster respect, celebrate successes, and thrive on shared achievements. At the IESO, it’s not just what we do - it’s who we are!

Who we are

Our central role includes managing the provincial power grid in real-time, overseeing and evolving Ontario’s electricity market, engaging with government, municipalities and Indigenous communities, and planning for Ontario’s future electricity needs. Our employees play a key role in driving grid innovation, protecting the system from threats, advancing the province’s energy conservation programs, and forecasting and procuring the electricity resources we’ll need in the decades to come.

This is a leadership position that falls within the Financial Resource Planning & Corporate Performance Division in the Corporate Services Business Unit.

What makes this role exciting

The energy sector is rapidly evolving, offering exciting new opportunities for those who want to make a difference.

We are hiring two Senior Manager positions within Financial Resource Planning & Corporate Performance Division. While both roles provide strategic financial leadership, oversight of planning and forecasting, and support the achievement of IESO's strategy, each role has a distinct area of focus.

Senior Manager, Financial Resource Planning & Analysis

The Senior Manager, Financial Resource Planning & Analysis is a strategic finance leader responsible for partnering with business unit senior leaders and executives to drive financial performance and operational efficiency across the organization to support the successful execution of the IESO’s multi-year business plan and operating budgets.

The successful candidate will lead business unit financial planning, forecasting, and performance reporting, translating complex financial information into actionable recommendations. Working closely with Human Resources and senior leaders, they will help align workforce investments and resource allocation with strategic priorities and long-term business objectives.

This role also champions continuous improvement and financial efficiency by identifying opportunities to optimize costs, improve resource utilization, and enhance value delivery. This role will collaborate with senior leaders to drive initiatives that strengthen financial sustainability and support achievement of organizational goals.

Acting as the Director's delegate for business unit FP&A matters, this role provides trusted financial counsel to Senior Leadership Teams and delivers executive-level reporting and analytical insights that support decision-making at the Executive Leadership Team, Audit Committee, Board of Directors, and external stakeholder levels.

Senior Manager, Enterprise Corporate Performance, Projects & Planning

The Senior Manager, Enterprise Corporate Performance, Projects & Planning is a strategic finance leader responsible for shaping the organization's financial strategy, performance management framework, and capital and project financial planning.

The successful candidate will lead the development of the corporate business plan, long-range financial forecasts, cash flow and funding strategies, regulatory submissions, and enterprise capital and project financial planning processes. Working across the organization, they will transform complex financial and operational data into insights that support strategic decision-making, mitigate risk, and advance corporate objectives.

In addition, this role oversees the corporate performance management framework, ensuring organizational goals are supported by meaningful performance measures, executive scorecards, and enterprise performance reporting. The role also provides financial leadership for the organization's capital and project portfolio, working in close collaboration with the Enterprise Project Delivery team to help guide investment prioritization, governance, forecasting, and reporting to support the successful execution of the IESO’s multi-year business plan and operating and capital budgets.

Why These Roles Matter

Both positions play critical leadership roles in enabling organizational success through strategic financial stewardship. While the Senior Manager, Financial Resource Planning & Analysis focuses on business unit performance oversight and collaborates closely with senior leadership to ensure the successful execution of the IESO’s multi-year business plan at the business unit level, the Senior Manager, Enterprise Corporate Performance, Projects & Planning focuses on enterprise level performance and oversight for long-range cash flow, project financial reporting, corporate performance measure and enterprise level reporting. Together, these roles help ensure informed decision-making, financial sustainability, and delivery of the organization's long-term strategic objectives.
