Role Description The Apprentice Technician role is a full-time, on-site position based at Infiniti South Edmonton in Edmonton, AB. In this role, the apprentice assists licensed technicians with vehicle inspections, maintenance, and repairs under supervision, following manufacturer guidelines and dealership standards. Daily tasks include performing basic services such as oil changes, tire rotations, fluid checks, and filter replacements, as well as helping with diagnostics and documenting work performed. The apprentice is responsible for maintaining a clean and safe work area, properly using tools and equipment, and adhering to all safety procedures. The role also involves continuous learning through training, shadowing experienced technicians, and staying current with Infiniti-specific technologies and service procedures to progress toward full technician certification.
Qualifications
- Foundational automotive mechanical knowledge and interest in vehicle maintenance and repair.
- Ability to follow technical instructions, service manuals, and diagnostic procedures accurately.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and commitment to safety in a shop environment.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a service team.
- Willingness to learn, accept feedback, and participate in ongoing technical training.
- Basic computer skills for service documentation and use of diagnostic tools.
- Completion or enrollment in an automotive technician or related apprenticeship program is an asset.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record, and ability to operate vehicles safely.
- Capability to perform physical tasks such as standing for extended periods and lifting moderate weights, with or without reasonable accommodation.
