Original job description

Full-Time | Durham Region / Darlington / Pickering, ON

About the Opportunity

Infinity Generation Services Inc. (IGS) is a certified Indigenous and Woman-Owned contractor supporting Ontario’s power generation sector. We are looking for a motivated Project Coordinator / Estimator to join our growing team.

Reporting to the Lead Project Manager/Estimator, this position will support projects from estimating and tendering through execution and close-out, with responsibility for project controls, costing, procurement, scheduling and client communication. This builds on IGS's existing Project Coordinator role, which combines project coordination with estimating new work.

Why join IGS?

At IGS, you’ll be part of a growing Indigenous and Woman-Owned company where your work has a direct impact. We offer the opportunity to work on exciting projects within Ontario’s power generation sector while gaining hands-on experience across estimating, project coordination and project execution.

We believe in developing our people and promoting growth from within. You’ll work alongside an experienced and collaborative team, take on meaningful responsibility, and have opportunities to expand your skills and advance your career as IGS continues to grow our dynamic team.

We offer competitive compensation, full benefits, three weeks starting paid time off, and ongoing learning and development opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

Assist with project startup, including project budgets, cash flow forecasts, preliminary schedules, purchase order acceptance and job setup.
Prepare and maintain project organization, communication and contract tracking documentation.
Monitor project plans, schedules, labour hours, budgets, commitments and expenditures.
Prepare weekly project cost summaries and assist with monthly Work in Progress (WIP) reporting.
Monitor job costing and identify cost or productivity trends that may impact project performance.
Prepare project progress reports and schedules for internal teams and clients.
Track project progress and the quality of work performed by trades and other project stakeholders.
Review contracts, project costs and WIP for areas of risk and assist in correcting deficiencies.
Track and manage Contemplated Change Notices (CCNs), Change Orders and other project changes, including estimating associated costs where required.
Chair or participate in project meetings and prepare/distribute meeting minutes.
Maintain effective communication between clients, Project Managers, field teams, suppliers and subcontractors.
Support project procurement and coordinate material and equipment requirements.
Assist with accounts receivable/payable and related project reporting.
Prepare substantial completion documentation and coordinate required project close-out documentation.
Assist with required client and project reporting, including applicable OPG/Bruce Power documentation and IGS Quality Program requirements.
Conduct site inspections and required Observation and Coaching activities in accordance with company policies and OHSA requirements.
Travel to project sites and client locations as required.
Perform other duties as assigned.

The estimating component expands on IGS's existing responsibilities for preparing construction estimates and analyzing tenders.

Qualifications

Degree/diploma in Engineering, Construction Management or a related field OR equivalent technical/construction experience.
Experience in project coordination, estimating or construction is preferred.
Ability to read drawings, specifications and tender documents.
Strong understanding of construction costing and project controls.
Proficient in Microsoft Office; MS Project and/or Primavera experience is an asset.
Strong communication, organization and attention to detail.
Electrical, mechanical, industrial, nuclear or power-generation experience is an asset.
Ability to obtain required client security clearance.
Knowledge of and experience working with Indigenous communities is strongly preferred.

What Would Make You Stand Out

Minimum of 3 years experience estimating electrical and/or mechanical construction work, particularly within Ontario's power generation or nuclear sector, would be highly valued. Familiarity with OPG processes, Maximo/Passport, construction WIP reporting, change management and unionized skilled-trade environments would also be an asset.

Knowledge of and experience working with Indigenous communities, businesses or procurement initiatives is strongly preferred.

Valid OPG site clearance.
