Role Description This full-time, on-site Sign Maker role is based in the Greater Vancouver Metropolitan Area. The Sign Maker will fabricate and assemble custom signs and vinyl graphics, including cutting, laminating, mounting, and installing materials according to job specifications. Daily tasks include operating sign-making equipment (such as plotters, printers, and laminators), preparing surfaces, following design files, and ensuring accurate measurements and clean finishes. The role involves working from work orders, collaborating with designers and installers, maintaining a safe and organized workshop, and occasionally assisting with on-site installations at client locations. The Sign Maker is expected to meet quality, safety, and timeline standards while contributing to a positive, team-oriented work environment.
Qualifications
- Experience with sign fabrication processes, including cutting, laminating, mounting, and basic installation of signs and vinyl graphics.
- Ability to read and interpret design files, work orders, and measurements, with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Comfort using hand tools and power tools safely, and familiarity with sign-making equipment such as plotters, printers, and laminators.
- Good organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a production environment.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills, including the ability to collaborate with designers, project managers, and installation staff.
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift materials, and work on ladders or in various on-site conditions as needed.
- Previous experience in signage, printing, fabrication, or a related trade is preferred; vocational or technical training is an asset.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for occasional travel to installation sites within the Greater Vancouver area is beneficial.
