Original job description

Role: OverIT FSM Techno-Functional Consultant

Location: Oakville, Ontario, Canada

Work Mode: Onsite / Hybrid (No Remote)

Job Description

We are looking for an OverIT FSM Techno-Functional Consultant to lead the configuration, implementation, and support of the OverIT Next-Gen Field Service Management (FSM) platform for clients in utilities, energy, and oil & gas industries.

This role bridges business requirements and technical execution - translating customer field operations needs into scalable, configured solutions on the OverIT platform.

Key Responsibilities

Gather, analyze, and document business requirements for scheduling, dispatch, work order management, mobile workforce, and GIS-based field operations.
Configure and customize the OverIT FSM platform:
Work order lifecycle
Scheduling/optimization rules
Dispatch boards
Mobile app forms
Business rules engine
Design and implement integrations between OverIT FSM and CRM, ERP, Asset Management, GIS (e.g., ESRI/ArcGIS), and IoT systems.
Configure and support the OverIT mobile app (offline capability, dynamic forms, multimedia capture, debriefing workflows).
Support scheduling/optimization algorithm tuning (skills-based routing, capacity planning, ML-driven dispatch rules).
Conduct workshops, functional design sessions, and UAT with client stakeholders.
Perform data migration, testing, and go-live support for FSM implementations.
Troubleshoot functional and technical issues; provide L2/L3 support post-go-live.
Create functional specifications, configuration documentation, and training materials.
Collaborate with OverIT product/engineering teams on enhancement requests and platform upgrades (e.g., NextGen Platform releases).
Advise clients on best practices for field service transformation, workforce optimization, and AR/remote collaboration features.

Must-Have Skills

Hands-on experience implementing or supporting OverIT NextGen Field Service Management (FSM) platform.
Strong understanding of work order management, scheduling, dispatch, mobile workforce management, and field operations.
Experience integrating FSM platforms with CRM, ERP, GIS, Asset Management, and IoT systems.
Strong techno-functional consulting experience, including requirements gathering, workshops, solution configuration, testing, deployment, and support.
Utility, energy, telecom, transportation, or oil & gas industry experience preferred.
3–7+ years of experience in Field Service Management (FSM) implementation or consulting; hands-on OverIT platform experience strongly preferred.
Solid understanding of FSM domain concepts:
Work Order Management
Scheduling/Dispatch Optimization
Mobile Workforce Management
Linear Asset Industries (Utilities, Telecom, Energy)
Experience with system integrations (REST/SOAP APIs, middleware) connecting FSM to CRM/ERP/GIS/IoT systems.
Working knowledge of GIS concepts and tools (ESRI/ArcGIS integration is a plus).
Familiarity with mobile app configuration and offline-first application design.
Strong analytical and requirement-gathering skills; ability to translate business needs into system configuration.
SQL and basic scripting/data-handling skills for configuration, migration, and troubleshooting.
Excellent client-facing communication skills; ability to run workshops and manage stakeholder expectations.
Prior experience in utilities, telecom, transportation, or oil & gas sectors is a plus.

Alternate FSM Platforms

If candidates with direct OverIT experience are difficult to identify, please also consider candidates with strong hands-on experience in:

ClickSoftware / Click Scheduler
Salesforce Field Service (FSL)
IFS FSM
SAP FSM
Oracle Field Service
ServiceMax
Microsoft Dynamics 365 Field Service
IBM Maximo Mobile / Field Service

Candidates must be able to clearly demonstrate FSM implementation, configuration, integration, scheduling/dispatch optimization, mobile workforce, and field operations experience.
