Application Developer – Capital Markets Technology

Contract Duration: 12 months

Work Arrangement: Hybrid – 1 day per week in office

Rate: $80–$85/hour

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Application Developer to support technology initiatives within the Capital Markets domain, with a focus on collateral management, funding solutions, and financial data platforms.

The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, enhancing, and supporting enterprise applications across multiple technology layers. This role involves a combination of new application development, automation, reporting enhancements, technical upgrades, and ongoing maintenance of existing systems.

Working closely with business analysts, QA teams, architects, and other developers, the candidate will translate business requirements into effective technical solutions while ensuring code quality, system reliability, and alignment with established development standards.

The primary technology environment includes C#/.NET, SQL Server, Databricks, and Git, with additional exposure to batch processing, CI/CD, data integration, and reporting technologies.

Ideal Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate is a hands-on application developer who combines strong C#/.NET and SQL development skills with experience supporting enterprise financial technology systems.

Candidates should be comfortable working across application development, data processing, automated scheduling, testing, deployment, and production support. Experience in Capital Markets, particularly collateral and funding technology, will be highly valuable.

• We are looking for someone who can independently own development tasks, collaborate effectively across technical and business teams, and contribute to both new initiatives and the continuous improvement of existing platforms.

Required Skills & Experience

Critical Requirements

• 5+ years of hands-on experience with C#/.NET application development.
• 5+ years of experience with SQL/T-SQL and relational databases.
• 5+ years of experience with Git-based source control, including GitHub or equivalent platforms.

• Experience with Databricks, using Python or Scala for data processing and development.
• Experience within banking, financial services, or Capital Markets technology.
• Understanding of funding, collateral management, or related financial applications.
• Experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and automated deployments.
• Proficiency in scripting technologies such as Python, PowerShell, or batch scripting.
• Experience supporting ETL processes, data integration, and scheduled processing workflows.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills across application and data layers.

Nice-to-Have Skills

• SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).
• Web APIs and RESTful services.
• Autosys or similar enterprise job scheduling tools.
• Microsoft Azure cloud services.
• Messaging technologies such as Solace or MQ.
• Experience with additional database platforms, including Oracle.
• Familiarity with Azure DevOps, Jira, TFS, or similar development and work-tracking tools.
• Experience with reporting and visualization technologies such as Power BI or Plotly.

Education

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or another relevant technical discipline.
