Senior Java Full Stack Developer

Location: Toronto, ON / Montreal, QC

Work Arrangement: Hybrid

We are looking for an experienced Senior Java Full Stack Developer to join a collaborative technology team supporting a variety of engineering projects and day-to-day application initiatives.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working across backend and frontend development, collaborating with technical teams, and contributing to different projects in a supportive team environment.

What You’ll Do

• Develop new solutions and features for technology programs and projects
• Design, develop, test, and implement applications using Java and Spring Boot
• Build and enhance frontend applications using Angular
• Develop and maintain RESTful and other web services
• Perform unit and component testing and support testing cycles
• Participate in peer code reviews and maintain high-quality, defect-free code
• Support application enhancements, break/fix activities, and production issues
• Analyze technical requirements and recommend practical engineering solutions
• Collaborate with developers, technology partners, and other internal stakeholders
• Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, estimation, retrospectives, and backlog activities
• Support incident management, troubleshooting, impact assessments, and resolution
• Document application components, infrastructure, integrations, and technical designs
• Contribute to continuous improvement of development, testing, and support processes

Must-Have Skills

• 8+ years of software development experience
• Strong experience with Java and Spring Boot
• Strong experience with Angular
• Experience with Git/GitHub and CI/CD pipelines
• Strong understanding of application infrastructure and how applications interact with infrastructure
• Strong collaboration and communication skills
• Experience developing and integrating web services and APIs
• Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment

Technical Experience

Experience with several of the following:

• Java / Spring Boot
• Angular
• Node.js
• Tomcat / JBoss
• REST, SOAP, JAX-WS, JAXB2, JAX-RS, Web API
• Maven, Nexus, Jenkins
• Git, Stash, Bitbucket
• Oracle, SQL Server, and/or DB2
• Jira and Confluence
• Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery

Nice to Have

• Experience integrating with Guardwire
• Cloud technologies such as Azure or AWS
• Experience integrating with vendor products and third-party technology partners
• Experience within the banking and insurance space, particularly insurance-related applications
