IO has been recognized domestically and internationally for the way it does business and the success it has had with its major projects, real estate services, infrastructure lending, commercial projects, and development mandate. IO delivers some of the most complex, ambitious commercial and land development solutions for the Province and continues to evolve and expand its capabilities to maximize its public impact and deliver on its vision of creating a connected, modern and competitive Ontario.
Position Purpose:
The role is responsible for one or more portfolio of projects (e.g. Justice, Roads and Highways, Healthcare, Public Works) through pre-implementation and implementation phases. This includes supporting the projects in the communication, education, and implementation of the Infrastructure Ontario (IO) Schedule management function internally and externally.
To succeed in this role, you bring exceptional stakeholder management skills and experience finding creative solutions to complex issues with clients and diverse teams of project consultants and specialists, while operating in matrix structure. Advanced presentation, consultation, negotiation, influencing, and consensus building skills are also required. Experience negotiating claims, scope changes and other compliance and contractual items on projects is desirable.
What You Will Do:
- Set Program Schedule Requirements: Define and manage schedule requirements to support all capital project deliveries at Infrastructure Ontario, serving as the primary interface for schedule management within the Project Controls Department.
- Master Schedule Management: Plan, develop, and maintain the integrated Master schedule to meet project objectives. Manage progress measurement, earned value, schedule reporting, and schedule change implementation.
- Specialized Scheduling Services: Offer specialized services such as evaluating alternative construction scenarios, recovery schedules, time impact, and delay claim analysis.
- Schedule Compliance Monitoring: Analyze consultant, supplier, and contractor schedules, provide recommendations, and report deviations from the approved project schedule.
- Claims Analysis: Review, analyze, and evaluate construction claims, assess their validity, and determine schedule impacts.
- Database Implementation: Implement and maintain a historical database for project schedules.
- Facilitate Planning Sessions: Lead interactive planning sessions and review time impacts on capital projects.
- Lead and Influence: Provide functional leadership to a team that bridges project teams with project controls and program management functions. Influence and contribute to the development of staff within the Scheduling team.
- Collaborate with Leadership: Partner with the Director of Capital Project Schedule Management to centralize guidance and engage third-party Schedule Management Consultants throughout the lifecycle of capital projects.
Who You Are:
- Several years of hands-on experience delivering project scheduling services for capital projects, including schedule development, schedule analysis, compliance reviews, progress measurement, reporting, schedule risk assessments, and claims analysis.
- Experience or education in Construction, Project Management, Engineering, Architecture, Commerce, or other relevant discipline an asset.
- PMI, AACE, RICS, P.Eng certifications are an asset.
- Experience with P3 and Progressive programs and a solid understanding of various P3 and non-P3 delivery models.
- Experience collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to influence and gain consensus and adherence to a common Scheduling model is required.
- Proficiency in Oracle Primavera P6 and other relevant scheduling software platforms/tools. Knowledge of data modeling, trend analysis, and earned value management.
- Construction Knowledge: Understanding of basic engineering and construction methodologies; ability to read construction drawings and specifications.
- Claims Management: Demonstrated experience in claims management.
- Business Acumen: Strong business acumen and detailed knowledge of project controls practices.
- Presentation Skills: Effective presentation, facilitation, and communication skills.
- Leadership & Delivery: This is a hands-on senior scheduling role, not a people management position. The successful candidate will be expected to personally perform complex schedule management activities, including schedule reviews, schedule analysis, reporting, claims assessments, and stakeholder engagement, while providing technical leadership, guidance, and influence across project teams and stakeholders.

To provide further options for planning and saving for the future, IO offers a Group Retirement Savings Plan and Group Tax Free Savings Account to eligible employees.
- A comprehensive package that covers health, dental, vision, out-of-country care, paramedical services, and more.
