Your contribution!

The Associate, Development position is based out of our offices in Vancouver, British Columbia, and will work closely with a Development Manager to support the development of utility-scale solar, wind, and hydro projects in Ontario. The successful candidate will assist senior team members throughout the full development cycle, from early-stage inception or acquisition through bid submission, advanced development, and eventual handover to the construction team.

The Associate will gain broad exposure to all aspects of project development while working closely with internal specialists, external consultants, and stakeholders.

Your day-to-day!

Supporting the identification and evaluation of new project opportunities (greenfield, acquisition, and partnership prospects).
Assisting in building and maintaining relationships with Indigenous partners, municipalities, landowners, and community stakeholders.
Coordinating with internal teams and consultants on land acquisition, environmental studies, permitting, interconnection, engineering, and financial assessments.
Providing research, analysis, and administrative support for project RFP submissions and bid processes.
Tracking and maintaining project documentation, schedules, and budgets under the guidance of senior developers.
Preparing presentations, reports, and briefing materials for management review.
Supporting senior team members during project handover to Construction and liaise with internal Finance and Legal as required.
Preparing required documentation to submit projects to senior management for approval.
Contributing to project risk assessments and assist in preparing recommendations for management decision-making.

Your skills, our requirements!

1 to 3 years’ experience developing utility-scale wind, hydro and/or solar projects.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with a focus in Renewable Power.
Experience with solar simulators including PVSyst.
Experience with GIS software including ArcGIS Pro.
Experience with Python for data analysis.
Experience with Visual Studio Code (VS Code).
Exposure to Ontario’s energy market and regulatory processes.
Experience working with Indigenous partners or community stakeholders.
Experience coordinating consultants, technical studies, or permitting processes.
Familiarity with development contracts: Land Lease, Partnership LOI, Capacity Funding, Power Purchase Agreements, Interconnection Agreements, Turbine Supply, BOP/EPC, O&M.
Ability to travel 25%.
Detail-oriented, with strong organizational and time-management skills.
Ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English with the ability to prepare clear reports and presentations.
Ability to communicate in French is an asset.

This position is a P1 level.
The position is based out of our offices in Vancouver, British Columbia, and will work closely with a Development Manager to support the development of utility-scale solar, wind, and hydro projects in Ontario.

This is a full-time permanent position. The language of operation in the Vancouver office is English, however ability to communicate in French is an asset. The salary range for this position is CAD$90,100- $95,000.

Responsibilities

Support the development of utility-scale solar, wind, and hydro projects in Ontario, from opportunity evaluation and early development through bids, advanced development, and handover to construction. Requirements

The role requires 1–3 years of utility-scale renewable project development experience and a bachelor's degree in engineering focused on renewable power. Candidates should have experience with PVSyst, ArcGIS Pro, Python, and VS Code, familiarity with Ontario's energy market and development contracts, stakeholder and consultant coordination experience, strong communication and organizational skills, and willingness to travel up to 25%.
