Original job description
We are seeking a bilingual Digital & Cybersecurity Analyst to support a Quebec-based manufacturing client. This is a 12-month contract to hire, working onsite 5 days/week. This individual will serve as the primary infrastructure and cybersecurity subject matter expert, supporting an environment that includes traditional IT infrastructure as well as internally developed software.
The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in network infrastructure, endpoint security, Microsoft/Windows environments, and cybersecurity troubleshooting. This is not a software development position, but the Analyst must be technically comfortable working with development teams to investigate security issues, understand why applications or code may trigger security products, and help identify root causes.
A major focus of this role will be partnering with Parker Hannifin's corporate cybersecurity organization and a U.S.-based team in Missouri to transition the business unit away from a separate network environment and further integrate it into Parker's corporate IT and security ecosystem.
Fluency in both French and English is required.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary infrastructure and cybersecurity SME supporting the Quebec business unit.
- Support and troubleshoot Windows-based infrastructure, networking, endpoint security, and Microsoft Defender.
- Investigate security alerts and determine why applications, software, or internally developed solutions may be flagged by endpoint security or antivirus technologies.
- Perform root-cause analysis of technical and security issues, including problems that may originate within application code.
- Partner with software developers to troubleshoot security concerns without being responsible for hands-on application development.
- Troubleshoot network infrastructure, including switches, connectivity, network configurations, segmentation, and related security issues.
- Support an environment that currently operates across separate business and corporate network infrastructures.
- Partner with Parker Hannifin's corporate cybersecurity teams to securely integrate the business unit into Parker's broader network environment and ultimately reduce reliance on the separate network.
- Evaluate infrastructure and application configurations for potential security risks and recommend appropriate remediation.
- Collaborate with cybersecurity, infrastructure, development, and business teams across Quebec and the United States.
- Communicate technical security issues clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Assist with incident investigation, endpoint troubleshooting, vulnerability remediation, and general security operations.
Required Qualifications
- Fluent/bilingual in French and English, with the ability to communicate effectively in both languages.
- Professional experience in IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, network security, or a combination of these areas.
- Strong understanding of networking fundamentals, including switches, TCP/IP, network connectivity, firewalls, segmentation, and troubleshooting.
- Experience supporting Windows and Microsoft-based enterprise environments.
- Hands-on exposure to Microsoft Defender or comparable enterprise endpoint protection/EDR technology.
- Ability to investigate antivirus/EDR alerts and determine why software or application behavior is being identified as potentially malicious or suspicious.
- Ability to perform technical root-cause analysis across infrastructure, security, networking, and application environments.
- Enough familiarity with software development and code to effectively troubleshoot issues and communicate with development teams.
- Strong communication and cross-functional problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with enterprise cybersecurity platforms such as Microsoft Defender for Endpoint, CrowdStrike Falcon, SentinelOne, Palo Alto Cortex XDR, Trellix, Carbon Black, or similar technologies.
- Experience working with Microsoft Active Directory, Entra ID/Azure, Microsoft 365, PowerShell, or related Microsoft technologies.
- Previous experience supporting security and infrastructure within a manufacturing, industrial, or engineering environment.
- Experience integrating an acquired, standalone, or independently operated business network into a larger enterprise IT environment.
- Familiarity with vulnerability management, endpoint security, incident response, network security, and security remediation.
- Industry-recognized cybersecurity or networking certification is preferred but not required.
- CISSP is highly desirable.
- CompTIA Security+ or Network+ would be beneficial.
- Other relevant cybersecurity, Microsoft, Cisco, or networking certifications will also be considered.
