Cloud Vulnerability Remediation Engineer
Contract: 6 months + extensions (multi-year project)
Hybrid: 4 days on-site every other week, remote alternating
Rate: $60-82/hr
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong programming or scripting experience with Python, Go, Bash, or similar languages, with the ability to read, troubleshoot, and modify code
- Experience with Kubernetes platforms and cloud infrastructure
- Strong understanding of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) concepts and experience working with Terraform.
- Experience using Jira for tracking remediation efforts and project work.
- Experience within Financial Services or other highly regulated environments.
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
- Experience building or enhancing automation solutions, including AI agents for triage, monitoring, or compliance workflows.
- Exposure to vulnerability management, compliance, governance, or security operations programs.
Job Description
We're looking for an engineer to join the smart infrastructure and cloud team at a leading bank. This role will be a minimum of 6 months and have the opportunity to extend long-term. There is a hybrid schedule 4 times a week in office, bi-weekly.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Monitor and manage vulnerability findings through the Vulnerability Management Governance (VMG) platform and related security dashboards.
- Investigate security findings, determine root cause, validate false positives, and prioritize remediation efforts.
- Remediate infrastructure vulnerabilities across cloud and Kubernetes environments.
- Modify and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC),
- Track findings through resolution by creating, updating, and managing Jira tickets.
- Monitor AI-driven automation processes that support vulnerability triage and compliance activities, validating outputs and escalating exceptions when necessary.
- Document remediation activities, compliance status, and vulnerability trends for reporting and audit purposes.
