Data Center Technician

Job Description

Insight Global is hiring for a Data Centre Technician to join a lead e-commerce client. As a Data Centre Technician, you are a primary resolver for your support team, skilled at troubleshooting and resolving most complex hardware infrastructure issues. You create and maintain documentation on technologies you support and are able to effectively pass down knowledge of these technologies to junior staff. You have basic to intermediate system administration skills and, where applicable, are able to take on remote system administration tasks working in a virtual team. You have the ability to automate tasks with scripts when necessary. You work autonomously to resolve most support issues. You are able to execute small projects on your own, and work with your manager in planning and executing larger local projects. You act as the initial escalation point for junior technicians. You understand all aspects of the equipment you support. You know how to innovate and make decisions on his/her own, but also know how to take direction when it is given, paying attention to all details involved. This is a 3 month contract to start with high possibility of long-term extensions.

Required Skills & Experience

• 1+ years of computer hardware experience, including troubleshooting and repairing experience

• 1+ years of network and operating system support experience, or Bachelor's degree or above in computer science, computer engineering, or related field

• Experience deploying, managing, and optimizing Microsoft Windows Server, or experience in Linux and Networking protocols and experience that includes strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities

• 2+ years of repair of material handling equipment experience

• Knowledge of UNIX/Linux operating system

• Experience that includes strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities, or experience in Network protocols like DNS/DHCP/TCP and experience in Linux OS and network troubleshooting

• Experience coordinating cross-functional inputs, meeting deadlines, and effectively managing competing priorities

• Bilingual - French/English

Compensation:

$29.50/h
