EDI Developer / Integration Specialist

Job Description

Insight Global is seeking an EDI Developer / Integration Specialist to support a growing EDI environment within a high-volume warehouse and distribution operation.

This is a hands-on technical role responsible for the end-to-end development, implementation, and support of EDI integrations. The successful candidate will write SQL queries against ERP data, develop EDI mappings, generate EDI and flat files, support batch and SFTP processes, and troubleshoot integration and data-flow issues.

The ideal candidate has experience building EDI transactions from the ground up, rather than solely monitoring or supporting existing integrations, and understands how data flows from an ERP system through an EDI platform and into customer or trading-partner environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, implement, and support EDI transactions end to end.
• Build new EDI transaction processes and enhance or modify existing integrations.
• Write SQL queries to extract, transform, and manipulate ERP data.
• Transform ERP data into EDI, XML, and flat-file formats.
• Develop and maintain EDI mappings and customer/trading-partner-specific integrations.
• Support batch-file, SFTP, and file-based integration processes.
• Monitor EDI transaction traffic and troubleshoot failed transmissions, mapping errors, and data issues.
• Develop and support warehouse-related EDI transactions, including ANSI X12 944, 945, and 947 transaction sets.
• Maintain trading-partner profiles, mapping documentation, specifications, and integration requirements.
• Work with internal business and technical teams to troubleshoot ERP, EDI, and transaction data-flow issues.
• Support customer-specific EDI requirements across inventory, warehouse, shipping, and order-management processes.
• Support the continued evolution toward API-based, cloud, and modern integration platforms.
• Document integrations, mappings, processes, and technical requirements.

Required Skills & Experience

• Post-secondary education in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Systems, Supply Chain, or a related field.
• 2+ years of hands-on EDI development or integration experience.
• Demonstrated experience developing EDI transactions from scratch, including mapping, data transformation, testing, implementation, and troubleshooting.
• Strong SQL development skills, including writing queries to extract and manipulate ERP data.
• Experience integrating EDI solutions with an ERP system.
• EDI experience within a warehouse, distribution, manufacturing, logistics, or other high-volume transactional environment.
• Hands-on experience supporting warehouse and/or supply-chain EDI transactions.
• Strong understanding of ANSI X12 and common EDI concepts and standards.
• Experience with EDI mapping, flat files, XML, file transfers, and SFTP-based integrations.
• Experience with XML, XSLT, scripting, or comparable data-transformation technologies.
• Understanding of order-to-cash, inventory, fulfillment, and related business processes.
• Working knowledge of APIs, cloud integration, or modern integration platforms.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail with effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work on-site in Mississauga.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

• Experience with Pronto ERP.
• Experience writing or maintaining batch scripts.
• Experience with Boomi or a comparable integration/iPaaS platform.
• Experience with ServiceNow, Jira, or comparable ticketing/work-management tools.
• English/French bilingualism is considered an asset.
