JOB DESCRIPTION
Insight Global's client, a national media organization, is seeking a hands-on Manager of Information Technology to lead IT operations, infrastructure, and cybersecurity initiatives. This role combines technical leadership with day-to-day administration of the Microsoft 365 environment, enterprise infrastructure, and security operations while mentoring a small IT team and helping shape the organization's technology roadmap.
Day to Day: The day-to-day focus is centered around full-cycle corporate IT operations and maintaining a secure, reliable technology environment. This is a hands-on IT Manager position with one experienced IT Specialist reporting into you. You will prioritize and resolve complex technical issues, oversee ticket management, monitor security systems, manage vendor relationships, ensure backup and recovery processes are functioning effectively, and maintain overall infrastructure stability.
Responsibilities:
- IT Operations & Infrastructure: Oversee day-to-day corporate IT operations, ensuring high availability, performance, and reliability across servers, networks, and business-critical systems.
- Team Leadership & Mentorship: Lead, mentor, and support an experienced IT Specialist; triage and delegate technical support requests while establishing service standards across the organization.
- Digital Security & Compliance: Act as the primary owner of the organization's cybersecurity posture, implementing security policies, monitoring threats through Microsoft Defender, managing access controls, and leading incident response efforts.
- Microsoft Enterprise Administration: Provide hands-on administration of the Microsoft ecosystem, including Azure/Entra ID, Microsoft 365, Intune, Exchange Online, SharePoint, and Teams.
- Contract & Vendor Management: Manage IT vendors, software licensing, and service agreements to ensure uninterrupted business operations.
- Disaster Recovery & Backups: Maintain backup systems and develop, test, and improve disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
- Issue Remediation & Escalations: Conduct root-cause analysis and lead remediation efforts for technical issues, outages, and security incidents.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- 5 to 7+ years of progressive IT operations experience, including 1 to 3+ years in a supervisory or team leadership capacity.
- Deep hands-on experience with Microsoft enterprise technologies, including Azure Cloud, Entra ID (Azure AD), Intune, Exchange Online, Microsoft 365, and Active Directory.
- Strong background in cybersecurity, including threat monitoring, endpoint protection (Microsoft Defender), access management, and incident response.
- Experience managing networking, corporate infrastructure, and virtualized server environments (VMware and/or Hyper-V).
- Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and delegate work to technical team members while remaining hands-on in daily operations.
NICE TO HAVE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Experience developing, maintaining, and executing IT disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
- Industry certifications such as CISSP, CITM, I.S.P., Microsoft, or other relevant security/cloud certifications.
- Experience supporting distributed or multi-site environments with remote and branch office infrastructure.
Pay Transparency:
The expected hour rate for this position falls between $60 to $63/hr
