Insight Global is seeking a Project Controls Manager to support a large construction company on a 6-month contract-to-hire opportunity. This role is based 5 days a week on-site in the Mississauga/Toronto area and will support a portfolio of major commercial, water, and transit construction projects.
The Project Controls Manager will oversee 4 employees and project controls activities across the region, including budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and cost management. This individual will act as the InEight SME, training Project Managers and project teams on best practices while providing leadership through dashboards, reporting, and portfolio-level insights. The ideal candidate has strong construction project controls experience, previous people leadership experience, and the ability to communicate effectively with both project teams and senior leadership.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- 7+ years of experience in Project Controls, Cost Controls, or a related discipline
- Previous people leadership experience, including managing project controls or cost controls personnel
- Strong experience using InEight
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting, cost management, and project reporting
- Experience developing dashboards and presenting project performance to leadership
- Construction industry experience supporting large capital projects
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Experience training and mentoring Project Managers and project teams
NICE TO HAVE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Experience working for large construction contractors
- Experience supporting commercial, water, infrastructure, or transit projects
- Experience supporting a portfolio of multiple projects simultaneously
- PMP, AACE, CCP, or other Project Controls-related certifications
- Engineering, Construction Management, or related post-secondary education

Responsibilities
Oversee regional project controls activities and a team of four, including budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and cost management across a portfolio of major construction projects. Serve as the InEight subject matter expert, train project teams, and provide dashboards and portfolio-level performance insights to project teams and senior leadership.
Requirements
Requires at least seven years of project or cost controls experience, prior people leadership, strong InEight experience, and experience supporting large construction projects. Candidates should also be skilled in budgeting, forecasting, reporting, dashboard development, stakeholder communication, and training or mentoring project teams.
