Workday Application Engineer

Insight Global is looking for a Workday Application Engineer to support a large retail client within their People & Culture Technology team. This individual will design, configure, implement, and support solutions across the Workday platform, partnering with business and technology teams to translate requirements into scalable technical solutions.

The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on Workday engineering experience across configuration, business processes, security, reporting, integrations, and production support. The team is particularly interested in candidates with Workday Recruiting and/or Workday Adaptive Planning experience due to upcoming initiatives.

Responsibilities:

• Design, configure, test, deploy, and support solutions across the Workday platform.
• Configure Workday business processes, workflows, condition rules, calculated fields, reporting, and related functionality.
• Configure and troubleshoot Workday security and access.
• Translate business requirements into scalable and maintainable Workday solutions.
• Support Workday integrations and assess downstream impacts across systems, data flows, security, and reporting.
• Troubleshoot complex Workday configuration, security, data, integration, and production issues and perform root-cause analysis.
• Support Workday releases, regression testing, deployments, and production validation.
• Partner with Product Managers, Architects, Engineers, and P&C stakeholders to assess requirements, dependencies, and technical complexity.
• Identify opportunities to simplify processes and maximize native Workday capabilities.
• Maintain technical documentation for configuration, integrations, dependencies, and support requirements.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• 4+ years of enterprise application experience with strong hands-on Workday HCM experience.
• Strong Workday configuration experience including business processes, condition rules, calculated fields, reporting, and tenant configuration.
• Strong knowledge of Workday security configuration and troubleshooting.
• Experience troubleshooting complex Workday issues across configuration, security, data, business processes, and integrations.
• Understanding of Workday integrations, APIs, data flows, and downstream system dependencies.
• Experience taking Workday changes through testing, deployment, and production support.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills with the ability to collaborate across business and technical teams.

NICE TO HAVE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• Workday Recruiting implementation/configuration experience.
• Workday Adaptive Planning implementation/configuration experience.
• Workday certifications or Workday Pro credentials.
• Experience supporting Workday in a large, global enterprise environment.
• Experience across multiple Workday functional areas.
• Experience with automated testing, configuration validation, or release automation.

Compensation:

$48/hr to $57/hr

Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
