About the role

Help clients turn Microsoft 365 security investments into coherent, practical protection. As a Senior M365 Security Architect at Insight Canada, you will shape secure, scalable and user-centered solutions across Microsoft Purview, Agent 365, Microsoft Defender and Microsoft Entra, bringing identity, devices, data and collaboration together through Zero Trust architecture.

This is a client-facing delivery role that connects business priorities, security risk and technical delivery. You will assess current environments, define target-state designs and phased roadmaps, and guide implementation through testing, adoption and operational handoff. The emphasis is Microsoft 365 security and governance; Microsoft Defender Suite, Microsoft Entra Suite Azure governance, and Microsoft Sentinel support the solution where needed rather than define its core.

What were looking for:

Required qualifications

• Demonstrated experience owning enterprise Microsoft 365 security architecture from assessment and design through implementation oversight.
• Broad working expertise across Entra, Defender and Purview, with the ability to connect identity, endpoint, data and collaboration controls into an end-to-end Zero Trust design.
• Strong knowledge of Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive and hybrid identity dependencies is essential; equal specialist depth in every product is not expected. 
• Turn discovery findings into defensible designs, prioritised risk-based roadmaps and actionable delivery plans.
• Bring practical implementation experience, sound judgement about security and usability, and the ability to validate controls through testing and pilots.
• Clear documentation, executive communication, workshop facilitation and collaborative technical leadership are essential, along with an understanding of Microsoft 365 E5 security and compliance capabilities and their licensing implications. 

Preferred capabilities and certifications

• Depth in one or more complementary areas is an asset: advanced Purview classification and auto-labelling, Insider Risk Management, Information Barriers, Data Security Posture Management, records governance or regulated environments such as GCC High.
• Other valuable specialities include secure Copilot and AI governance, and complex tenant-to-tenant migrations. 
• Relevant credentials may include Microsoft Cybersecurity Architect Expert, Microsoft 365 Administrator Expert, Microsoft security or information-protection certifications.
• Certifications support demonstrated architectural and delivery experience; candidates are not expected to hold every credential or cover every preferred speciality.
