Production Accounting Analyst

We are looking for an experienced Production Accounting Analyst for a 3-month contract position with possible extensions in Calgary, Alberta. Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.

Role Description

The Production Accounting Analyst work involves applying specialized production accounting, Petrinex, and regulatory knowledge to analyze and resolve complex volumetric, infrastructure, data-quality, and reporting-compliance issues. The role also provides subject-matter guidance to internal and external stakeholders and supports the assessment and testing of changes to Company/Petrinex systems, data, and processes.

Responsibilities

• Provide production accounting and regulatory expertise: Serve as a subject matter expert on production accounting, oil and gas infrastructure data, Petrinex, and associated reporting requirements, providing guidance and recommendations to industry clients, Company teams, and project partners.
• Analyze and resolve complex reporting and compliance issues: Investigate production data, reporting, and compliance challenges; reconcile discrepancies between Petrinex and Company information; identify root causes; and recommend practical corrective actions.
• Support system, process, and data changes: Identify, assess, and prioritize enhancements to Petrinex and Company systems and processes, and conduct comprehensive testing to ensure changes meet business and regulatory requirements before implementation.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders: Work closely with teams across the Company, Petrinex, Government of Alberta, industry committees and associations, and other partners to address information integrity, system enhancements, regulatory changes, and complex business issues.
• Support compliance and continuous improvement: Manage volumetric reporting noncompliance, including related correspondence and financial adjustments, while sharing knowledge, supporting colleagues, and contributing to continuous improvement and evolving production-data and regulatory reporting initiatives.
