Your Role with Us
As our Intermediate/Senior Piping Designer, you will be responsible for developing and coordinating piping designs and deliverables for the construction and operation of oil and gas facilities. You will work closely with engineers, project teams and other disciplines to develop practical drawing solutions from concept through detailed design and construction.
Impact and Responsibilities
· Apply knowledge of piping systems to support the development of engineering designs and drawings from preliminary concepts and specifications.
· Prepare and review piping design deliverables, including plot plans, general arrangements, isometrics, and tie-in drawings including as-builts.
· Develop and manage 3D piping models using CADWorx or similar software.
· Coordinate piping design requirements and interfaces with other engineering design disciplines.
· Ensure all designs meet technical specifications, regulatory codes, and client requirements.
· Collaboration with multi-disciplinary team to compile construction work packages for field installations and conduct site visits to verify existing conditions as required.
· Estimate schedules and deliverables, without compromising quality.
· Review/check team design drawings.
Who We’re Looking For
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Piping Designer with a strong technical background in oil and gas facility design. The ideal candidate will possess:
· Solid understanding of process piping systems, layout principles, P&IDs and tie-in methodologies.
· Strong design knowledge, including piping and structural fundamentals.
· Familiarity with industry codes such as ASME B31.3 and CSA standards.
· Proficient communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively within cross-functional teams.
· Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities, with minimal supervision.
· A proactive, solution-oriented mindset and the ability to work independently or take the lead on design efforts.
· Experience in fast-paced, project-based environments.
Qualifications
· Diploma in Engineering Design/Drafting Technology.
· Registered with ASET with a CET designation.
· Minimum 7 years’ experience in piping design within oil and gas industry, ideally an EPC setting.
· Proficiency with CADWorx, AutoCAD and 3D modeling tools. Familiarity with scanned models would be an asset.
· Ability to interpret and apply relevant industry codes and client specifications.
· Self-motivated, reliable, strong work ethic and ability to work with minimal supervision.
