  • Implement individualized behavioural intervention programs developed and supervised by a qualified behavioural clinician.
  • Provide direct, one-to-one support using evidence-based Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) principles and teaching strategies.
  • Support skill development in areas such as functional communication, emotional regulation, social interaction, daily living skills, independence, and community participation.
  • Incorporate natural environment teaching and meaningful, client-directed learning opportunities into sessions.

  • Implement proactive, positive behaviour support strategies that prioritize dignity, safety, autonomy, and quality of life.
  • Participate in clinical supervision, team meetings, and ongoing professional development as required.
  • Maintain professional boundaries, confidentiality, and ethical standards in all aspects of service delivery.

Qualifications and Experience

Required:

  • Post-secondary education in Behavioural Science, Psychology, Autism and Behavioural Science, Developmental Services, Child and Youth Care, or a related field.
  • Experience supporting individuals with autism, developmental disabilities, behavioural support needs, or diverse learning profiles.
  • Knowledge of ABA principles and evidence-based teaching strategies.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining collaboration with a supervising clinician.
  • Reliable transportation and willingness to travel to clients’ homes and community locations.
  • Ability to obtain a satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Check.

Preferred:

  • Previous experience working as an Instructor Therapist or Behaviour Therapist.
  • Experience implementing individualized skill acquisition and behaviour support programs.
  • Familiarity with natural environment teaching, functional communication training, and positive behaviour support.
  • Experience working collaboratively with caregivers and interdisciplinary teams.
  • Training in crisis prevention, de-escalation, or related approaches.

What We Offer

  • Flexible scheduling based on contractor availability and client needs.
  • Opportunities to provide meaningful, individualized support in natural environments.
  • Clinical guidance, collaboration, and professional support.
  • Opportunities to work with individuals across different ages, abilities, and support needs.
  • A collaborative, person-centred approach that values professional judgment, creativity, and meaningful outcomes.
  • Opportunities for professional growth as IBC continues to expand its services.
