Responsibilities And Expectations

Integrated Power Services (IPS) is seeking an experienced Process Engineer - Operations & Continuous Improvement to lead process optimization, operational excellence initiatives, repair capability development, and strategic improvement projects supporting the continued growth of IPS's Industrial Repair and Renewable Energy businesses.

This role is responsible for analyzing, developing, and improving repair, manufacturing, testing, inventory, and operational processes to increase safety, quality, productivity, and profitability. The Process Engineer will work closely with Engineering, Operations, Quality, Customer Service, Purchasing, and Sales to identify opportunities, implement sustainable improvements, and support the successful execution of business-critical projects.

The successful candidate will combine strong engineering and analytical skills with practical project management experience to drive operational performance and support innovation across IPS facilities.

Process Engineering & Continuous Improvement

Analyze existing repair, manufacturing, testing, and operational processes to identify inefficiencies and improvement opportunities.
Develop and implement process improvements that enhance safety, quality, throughput, and operational effectiveness.
Lead Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Develop standardized work instructions, process documentation, and best practices.
Monitor operational KPIs and identify trends impacting performance.
Lead root cause analysis and corrective action activities related to quality, process, and production issues.
Collaborate with Engineering and Operations teams to improve repair methods and testing processes.
Evaluate workflow, facility layout, tooling, and equipment utilization to improve productivity.
Support automation and digital transformation initiatives where applicable.
Assist in capacity planning, resource optimization, and operational strategy development.
Drive inventory optimization and process controls to improve material flow.

Engineering & Capability Development

Lead initiatives that expand IPS's Industrial Repair and Renewable Energy repair capabilities.
Supporting new repair capability development and implementation.
Assisting with New Product Introduction (NPI) activities.
Supporting pilot repair programs and proof-of-concept projects.
Assisting with technology transfer initiatives between IPS locations.
Developing process validation plans and implementation strategies.
Supporting capital equipment acquisition, installation, and commissioning projects.
Evaluating and improving laboratory and test area operations.
Supporting inventory improvement and hardware surplus reduction initiatives.

Project Management

Ensure projects follow SMART principles (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-Bound).
Develop project plans, schedules, milestones, and implementation activities.
Coordinate cross-functional teams to achieve project objectives.
Monitor project progress against scope, schedule, quality, and cost requirements.
Lead project meetings and provide updates to stakeholders.
Identify project risks and implement mitigation plans.
Support customer-driven engineering and operational improvement projects.
Ensure all projects align with IPS quality, safety, and business objectives.

Qualifications Required

Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Process Engineering, or related technical discipline.
Minimum five (5) years of experience in process engineering, manufacturing engineering, industrial engineering, or continuous improvement.
Demonstrated experience improving operational, manufacturing, repair, or service processes.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Experience leading cross-functional improvement initiatives.
Experience with ERP systems and operational reporting.
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Power BI, and data analysis tools.

Nice To Haves

Experience creating process maps, workflow diagrams, and standard operating procedures.
Valid driver's license with the ability to travel between local facilities.
Lean Manufacturing Certification.
Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt.
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
Experience with technology transfer activities.
Experience in industrial repair, power systems, rotating equipment, electronics, or renewable energy industries.
Experience with capital equipment implementation and facility improvement projects.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Productivity and throughput improvements.
Reduction in process cycle times.
Quality and first-pass yield improvements.
Cost reduction and efficiency gains.
Successful completion of improvement initiatives.
Inventory accuracy and reduction of excess inventory.

Travel Requirements

Ability to travel up to 25% of the time to other IPS locations throughout the United States.
Travel may include visits of up to one (1) week per month, depending on project requirements, technology transfer activities, engineering support, and new product introduction initiatives.
Valid passport and ability to travel internationally to the United States are required.
