Original job description

Company Description

Improving healthcare through innovative technology is at the core of Intelerad’s work. Our scalable medical imaging platform connects clinicians to a powerful imaging ecosystem that is fast, smart, and tapped into the data they need, no matter their location. We’re focused on delivering a best-in-class medical image management solution that improves provider efficiency, decreases the cost of healthcare, and improves the overall health of populations.

Intelerad offers one of healthcare’s most comprehensive imaging and analytics platforms. Headquartered in Raleigh, NC and Montreal, Intelerad has nearly 700 employees located in offices across six countries. The company empowers nearly 2,000 healthcare organizations around the world with the speed, scalability, and simplicity needed to increase business performance while, most importantly, improving patient outcomes. Intelerad’s modern enterprise solutions have been acknowledged by a Best in KLAS recognition, ranking #1 for PACS Asia/Oceania in the 2021 Best in KLAS: Global Software (Non-US) report. Job Description

As a UI/UX Researcher at Intelerad, you will play a meaningful role in shaping how clinicians and healthcare professionals interact with our medical imaging products. You will independently own research activities for one or more product areas, partnering with product managers, developers, and end users to turn complex clinical needs and business goals into intuitive, high-quality experiences, from early discovery through to successful release.

Key Responsibilities

Research

Independently plan and lead qualitative and quantitative UX research across the product lifecycle to understand user goals, workflows, and challenges; evaluate product concepts and design solutions; and provide actionable insights that inform product and design decisions.
Set research priorities and methodologies for your product area in partnership with product management; recruit participants and moderate sessions with clinicians and other end users.
Synthesize research data into personas, journey maps, and actionable insights, and translate findings into design and product recommendations that influence roadmap decisions.
Own and evolve our research repository so findings stay discoverable and continue to inform current and future work.

Communication & Collaboration

Build trust with users through deep empathy, active listening, and strong facilitation, enabling a thorough understanding of their goals, workflows, and challenges.
Present design and research findings to audiences ranging from engineers to product leadership, and lead design and research critique sessions to ensure alignment and quality.
Mentor and provide feedback to less experienced researchers, sharing methods and best practices across the team.

Qualifications

Qualifications & Experience

4+ years of experience in UX research, with a portfolio demonstrating end-to-end research projects, research methodologies, synthesis, and impact on product decisions.
Proficiency with research and collaboration tools, including Figma for communicating concepts and UX research platforms such as Dovetail, UserZoom, Optimal Workshop, or similar.
Demonstrated expertise in wireframing and prototyping.
Demonstrated experience independently planning and leading user research using qualitative and quantitative methods, and synthesizing findings into personas, journey maps, and actionable insights.
Strong knowledge of HCI principles and design best practices.
Proven ability to communicate design rationale and research findings effectively to technical and non-technical audiences, including senior stakeholders.
Excellent spoken and written English.

Preferred Qualifications & Special Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), User Experience (UX) Design, Interaction Design, Human Factors / Ergonomics, Psychology, or equivalent.
Experience prototyping with HTML and CSS or similar front-end tools.
Experience in healthcare IT or complex enterprise software; experience conducting research with clinical or healthcare users.
Familiarity with accessibility standards (WCAG) and inclusive design practices.
Familiarity with survey design and basic statistical analysis.
Experience working in Agile development environments.
Experience mentoring or informally guiding other researchers.
No direct supervisory responsibilities.
