HEAD COACH – MEN’S COMPETITIVE PROGRAM

Inter Ottawa Soccer Club is seeking a committed and ambitious Head Coach to lead its men’s competitive program for the 2027 season.
Founded in 1999, Inter Ottawa is an Eastern Ontario Soccer senior member club entering an important period of growth. Following a successful 2026 season, which included two divisional championships and promotion to MC1, the Club is working to establish higher coaching standards, a defined playing identity and a structured year-round competitive program.
This position is suited to a coach who wants to help build a program - not simply deliver training sessions.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plan and deliver structured winter, preseason and outdoor training programs.
- Establish a clear playing philosophy and performance standards.
- Lead player evaluation, team selection, recruitment and roster development.
- Take responsibility for match preparation, team tactics and matchday management.
- Use Veo footage and other tools to support match analysis and player feedback.
- Create a competitive environment founded on discipline, accountability and continued development.
- Communicate effectively with players, club leadership and supporting coaches.
- Contribute to the Club’s longer-term competitive and player-development strategy.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Canada Soccer C Diploma or a recognized international equivalent.
- Relevant experience coaching senior men, university, high-performance youth or another comparable competitive environment.
- Strong session-planning, tactical and player-development capabilities.
- Demonstrated leadership, reliability and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively while taking ownership of technical and matchday decisions.
- Availability for evening training and weekend or weekday matches in Ottawa from January through September 2027.
- Ability to satisfy Ontario Soccer registration, screening and Safe Sport requirements.
- Relevant certifications and training required for Senior Amateur level including: Soccer for life, Understanding the Rule of Two, Make Ethical Decisions, Making Headway in Sport (Soccer), Emergency Action Plan, etc.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
- Canada Soccer B Diploma or higher.
- Previous OCSL, League1 Ontario, college, university or senior amateur coaching experience.
- Experience with video analysis, opposition scouting and player recruitment.
- An established network within the Ottawa and Eastern Ontario soccer community.
