Who You Will Work With:

The Security Operations, Specialist will join an established, dedicated team providing ongoing managed systems, operations and SLA support to a client within the financial services industry. Within the primary scope of responsibility for this role, you will also participate and engage on service related impacting troubleshooting and investigation sessions to resolve and mitigate any issues and incidents affecting delivery of service of function of business. Furthermore, you will be participating in the investigation, development and delivery of new strategic security initiatives, that will achieve the needs of the client.

What You Will Do:

Service Operations, Monitoring, and System Health

Providing ongoing support for managed services and infrastructure to meet contractual SLAs.
Ensuring operational integrity, performance, and resource availability.
Reviewing system and application reports such as replication status, data integrity, infrastructure health, and utilization metrics.
Verifying continuous operations using monitoring tools, alerts, and established procedures.

Participating in team scrums and operational work sessions.

Incident Intake, Triage, Response, and Recovery

Intake, triage, and investigation of incidents, issues, and problems from systems or client groups.
Responding to alert events within required timeframes (e.g., 15‑minute incident response).
Leveraging operational tools to gather diagnostic information quickly and accurately.
Escalating to next‑level support or management when needed and ensuring broad awareness.
Supporting incident resolution, recovery efforts, and post‑incident analysis.
Providing timely, professional updates to customer management during incidents.
Participating in on‑call pager rotation as first point of contact.

Change Management, Documentation, and Process Governance

Preparing Change Request Advisories and maintaining accurate records of all changes.
Ensuring support requests, incident tickets, and tasks are created, updated, and closed in a timely manner.
Following internal and customer processes while adhering to security best practices.
Creating and maintaining accurate documentation that contributes to organizational knowledge and intellectual property.
Documenting incidents, support engagements, and pager events using IT service management tools.

Collaboration, Communication, and Client Engagement

Collaborating with internal teams and client groups on support tasks and approved requests.
Ensuring clear, timely communication with stakeholders during incidents and operational activities.
Supporting engagements that fulfill contractual obligations and operational expectations.
Working with peers to ensure smooth handoffs, shared understanding, and coordinated response.

Operational Reliability, Continuous Improvement, and Support Readiness

Ensuring infrastructure and applications remain reliable, available, and secure.
Identifying issues proactively through monitoring, alerts, and system health checks.
Supporting continuous improvement of operational processes, tools, and procedures.
Providing flexible off‑hours support to maintain operational readiness and team coverage.

What You Bring:

2-4 Years Experience and INTERMEDIATE Proficiency with Windows Server, Linux (Redhat Preferred), VMWare ESXi
2-4 Years Experience and INTERMEDIATE Proficiency with Enterprise level tools: monitoring/alerting, SIEM, incident/problem/ticket management, content management, knowledge repository/wiki
2-4 Years Experience and strong with scripting languages and automation: Linux shell, Python, Powershell, schedulers
2-4 Years Experience and strong understanding of TCP/IP, LDAP/AD, SQL, Networking
Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science, Computer studies, Cyber Security or related field experience.
Proven experience performing incident investigations and forensics and have a strong technical background in networking and infrastructure.
Excellent interpersonal skills in customer facing environments and interacting with the client on support related issues.
Able to qualify for Canadian security clearance.
Highly motivated and results oriented.
Possess the ability to handle high pressure situations with key stakeholders.
Possess the ability to take on multiple tasks concurrently and independently with minimal support or supervision.
Strong service management and service delivery orientation.
Excellent presentation skills and an ability to present complex information in a manner suitable for technical and non-technical audiences.
Strong problem solving and solution skills; time management skills; organizational skills; and attention to detail.
Strong interest in information security.
Eligibility to work for Interac Corp. in Canada in a full-time capacity.
