Interior Health is seeking an experienced and dynamic Medical Laboratory Assistant to join our Medical Laboratory Department at Penticton Regional Hospital in Penticton, BC. About The Job
The successful applicant will be primarily located at the Penticton Regional Hospital and will be required to work shifts and cover collections at the nearby Summerland Health Centre. An unrestricted class 5 drivers license is a requirement of this position.
Medical Laboratory Assistants perform a variety of duties such as taking blood and specimen samples from patients, preparing blood and other specimens for analysis, performing routine lab tests, distributing specimens to departments and outside Labs, operating related equipment, entering data into the LIS and performing related clerical duties and ECG testing as required.
This is a Permanent Full Time (1.00) opportunity.
Shifts of work will be scheduled rotating days, evenings and nights.

Responsibilities
Collect blood and other specimens from patients, prepare specimens for analysis, perform routine laboratory tests, and distribute specimens to internal departments and external laboratories. Operate related equipment, enter information into the laboratory information system, perform clerical duties, and conduct ECG testing as required.
