Interior Health is seeking an experienced and dynamic Medical Laboratory Assistant to join our Medical Laboratory Department at Shuswap Lake General Hospital in Salmon Arm, BC. About The Job
Shuswap Lake General Hospital is a 42-bed hospital in the Thompson-Cariboo-Shuswap health service area. Located in Salmon Arm, B.C., the hospital offers services including surgical, inpatient, obstetrics and 24-hour emergency.
Medical Laboratory Assistants (MLA) perform a variety of duties such as taking blood, specimen processing, operating related equipment, entering data into the Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) and performing related clerical duties and ECG testing as required. This position will rotate through the hospital and the off-site outpatient lab.
This is a Casual opportunity. Casual means hours are not guaranteed and may vary and shifts may be at short notice. Casual employees are eligible to apply for internal postings including permanent and temporary positions. There are many opportunities with Interior Health that begin with casual employment and lead to regular employment.
Shifts of work will be rotating days from 06:00 to 114:00.
