We are looking for an experienced Power Engineer 5 / Maintenance Worker V to join our dedicated and supportive team at the Kootenay Lake Regional Hospital in Nelson, BC.
This is a casual position with possible day shifts from 07:00 to 15:00 as needed for vacation and leave coverage. Work hours range from 0 to 37.5 per week, with shifts available on short notice or pre-scheduled to cover leaves. Many of our team members start in casual roles and transition into permanent positions. Your Role
As a Power Engineer | Maintenance Worker, you will be instrumental in operating and maintaining the power plant or low-pressure steam plant to ensure optimal functionality of boilers, air conditioning units, emergency power systems, and related equipment. Your responsibilities will include performing preventative maintenance, repairs, and trades duties approaching the journeyman level in areas such as electrical, plumbing, and painting, all while adhering to applicable codes and regulations. Additionally, you will supervise Maintenance Workers and other designated staff, contributing to a safe, efficient, and well-maintained facility environment.
